SLO247 got a reaction from Garry J Mulder in dash swap .
Use all the xd heater box vac lines on the xf heater box. Then it all plugs straight into the dash and works.
Same with the fan speed resistor, ac evap temp probe and heater temp cable lever etc.

SLO247 reacted to XFH00N in F100 LWB 250turbo
Well last year in December i got a F100 without motor or box for free so that became my newest project. It has a 3.50:1 lsd 9in in it and i am building up a 250xflow with a blow thru carby and a turbo which will be backed up with a T5. Well here are some pics of the work done so far.
When I got it
Stripping
Tray I picked up cheap
The damage
The fun
As it sits the bottom end of the motor is nearly ready to go in with the gearbox. Cab has been stripped and is ready for paint doors and guards are stripped, rust free and in primer and tray is 95%repaired just need to weld it out. Have also done a diff flip and painted the enginebay and chassis

SLO247 reacted to Defective in Non-pwr steering box, educate me
Xe and xd what are better than xf? If steering box aren't they all the same?
Aaaand, now have a recon unit in my pano, what a difference! Still need to get wheel alignment done but it actually points where I aim it now, and doesn't wander half a lane on the motorway anymore.
Just gotta drop the rear down,,roll, the guards and get wheel alignment done and thats the suspension done for a while.
Interior next.

SLO247 got a reaction from SirkWhyXF in XG handbrake cable with XG diff in XF Ute
I did the same thing today. Fitted the extra adjuster and moved it over one hole. Works well now, plenty of adjustment left to tighten it up more if needed.
Remember there's still the other adjuster on the driver's side if you need it shorter. The handle did feel light but it seems good.

SLO247 reacted to SirkWhyXF in XG handbrake cable with XG diff in XF Ute
It's not the right way, and i still have to fix mine as i doubt it will hold on a steep hill, but i had the same issue with my sedan and i've at the moment got the adjustment part from the xf on the system too to get the extra length. It's a bit too long though, as the umbrella is very light. Still holds, though as i said i haven't tested it on any sort of substantial slope....

SLO247 reacted to deankxf in XG handbrake cable with XG diff in XF Ute
i used EB wagon diff and handbrake cable in XF ute using the full cable with possibly the lever doover thingy.. cant remember there being any issues.
i would have assumed the XG cable would be the same as the EB wagon..
the front cable changed lenth at some point possily.. XD\XE to XF maybe or to E series.. might be part of the remedy

SLO247 reacted to Banno in XG handbrake cable with XG diff in XF Ute
Did you use the XG counter lever under car that pulls cable in or the original xf one cause they are different.
I had to change over the whole lot when I put a e-series diff in cause same problem.
From memory I used the original lever and wouldn't work so used e-series and no problem.
Long ago when I did that and memory is really fading.

SLO247 reacted to SirkWhyXF in XD-XF bonnet lacing
If anyones interested i found a product that should do the job perfect at clarke rubber. They call it "Sponge extrusion self adhesive blister 16x12mm" part no. 31633, was $11.95/m. I bought 1.8m, but 1.6 will do the job easy.
Here's the stuff
Trial fitted this piece this arvo and it fits perfect, the rib at the top seals on the underside of the bonnet like it was meant for it.
I'll put up a pic when i clean up the area and install it.

SLO247 reacted to Mr Polson in Urethane Engine Mounts
Hey guys, discovered in the computer at work today (Repco) that we have/can get some urethane engine mounts for xflows, if anyone's interested they are on clearance for around $20 a side.
Not many left in the country though.

SLO247 reacted to NZXD in engine number
Sorry I can't help as in the Territory, I asked at MVR here about my AU Windsor block in my XD, the only question I got asked by the people was "is it stolen?"
I'm not sure whether what to do, as I said to them no it isn't, but the engine number is from an AU, chassis is XD....they said to me what's the issue??? Fark knows.
I just worry I'll import the car and roll up and they will have changed their minds...being the Territory and all.

Viola!
Just ignore the missing corner, this is the first prototype and was made from a bit of scrap so I could work out what was going on.

SLO247 got a reaction from 2redrovers in Removing body moulds
Try not to bend them either as you pull them off. Easier said than done though. Lifting them from underneath or on top to start with rather than from one end helps.
Lay them flat on a flat surface for storage, preferably not stacked. Helps them not to bend.
If they train themselves into a bent or kinked shape they won't stick well.
Can lay them flat in the sun to soften and straighten before fitting. Helps a lot, even try a heat gun.
