Campo reacted to RAWDEAL in Fitting BA XR6T motor and T5 box into an 96 XG Outback Ute
you wont have to cut the car up , but you will have to stuff around a fair bit with wiring / tune to get it running (or pay someone and it basically becomes a plug and play ecu setup)
you can swap and match up parts to get it all to fit without cutting the car. the worst most major thing is getting the sump cut and shut
https://www.facebook.com/groups/billscustomlooms/?ref=group_cover
try that link , they make loom kits and source other parts to make it much easier
for the price id honeslty just get a standard FG motor from the wreckers , fg turbo manifold, t56 from a turbo, bolt that in , buy a loom kit for the ecu and wiring side of things
and if you wanna turbo it just run 6-8psi it will hold up fine , people are turboing the n/a motors more and more now

Barra is a piece of piss conversion but yeah that one is a bit on the pricy side for the initial buy

Yep use the ignition setup off your current donk, it'll go straight in. Then burn the coil packs and throw them in the bin, shit things they are!

LOL always something Tony, this engine should run a high 8 sec pass and when it does it will be yeah but you can't beat Ken!! love it. totally different racing programs.
No one will beat Ken, NO ONE!! period..... not even a hammer-wielding god engine from FNQld!!!

Easy enough in the car just a bit of a fiddle to get the timing case back on, not too bad though. Bit of a tip, dont drop the bolt from the plate that holds the gear in. Difficult and messy to fish it out of the sump haha

Campo reacted to xr6tjet in XF intank fuel pump upgrade
All the pumps when you take it out you can modify a fuel pump to fit in there. Lucky for you they are much easier to modify. On my AU I had to cut the pump housing to fit the walbro 255.
