matt_lamb_160 got a reaction from CHESTNUTXE in Supercharger
And about 40 posts and 10 days and no contribution from you in your own thread? The superchargers got a good run and some good examples have been shown.
I agree with Sly on the blow thru centrifugal setup if top end it the aim. They are smaller (easier to package) and can go blow thru LPG easily. Cost is still high. I was going to use a Rotrex on mine, but ended up turbo (haha).
If you want to go roots or twin screw style, I would look at PRO250s supercharged XF thread (it might have been on the other forum).
I also like this, still not sold on using this type of blower in a blow thru configuration though:

Always degree in the cam.
And it does not matter so much what wheel you use, as long as your reference/zero point does not change during the measurements.
I print my own degree wheels onto A4 paper, cut it out and laminate it. You cna have it any size, But remember a larger wheel, will increase the accuracy of your measurements, It is hard to discern 1 degree on a 3 inch wheel. But on a 30 inch wheel you can degree to seconds of a degree with ease.

The M90 on a XFLOW thread is mine, and I have since changed the M90 to a M112 from a Jaguar V8.
The basic set up is the same as the M90, except for the pulleys I changed them a bit, from HTD to 8 rib serpentine style.
I also went from the Bronco throttle body to a single 80mm.
It now has 14 to 15 psi, and goes a lot better than the M90 did.

If I was hell bent on a blower, I'd keep it injected and get a good second hand or reco Eaton M112 from the States off the SVT Mustang or F150 Lightning for around 1k. If you're handy with fabrication, you could make up the bracketry/manifold adaptor yourself. I'm a fitter & machinist so all this stuff wouldn't be a problem for someone like myself. But even if you aren't in a similar trade you could probably get it made a up at a reasonable price.
If it's chrome and carbs that you're craving, it won't do the trick and the blower kit would be the go. It's expensive HP in anyone's language. If going blown I'd go a forged bottom end for sure due to the power delivery and risk of backfires/pinging when things like heat soak and lack of intercooler during extended thrashing.

isn't the M90 a little on the small side for 4L ? I thought the M112 would be a better choice but M90's are cheap and plenty which is probably why I just answered my own question, they're a little on the small side but good availability and much cheapness

Google M90 on a XFLOW xfalcon
On my supercharged 1FZ-FE the blower is mounted on the exhaust side. Allows you to intercool (if you go EFI) and use the standard inlet manifold. Heaps of pictures on the net of similar setups.

I'm in the middle of building an au vct motor. They adjust 6 degrees from memory. It'll have a BW 66mm turbo.
I'll let you guys know how that goes.

According to the thread the picture is from they are 48cc. I would've expected them to be closer to the 42cc of the C2 head too.

There are pictures of the D head around somewhere (maybe 9n the other forum). The D is a slightly modified C2 (although I have never had one).

matt_lamb_160 reacted to XPT in 200 rods into 250?
No one acted like they invented anything, they merely explained the theory behind doing this conversion to someone who asked the question. If we all knew everything we wouldn't be on here would we? No need to be a condescending smart arse, we are all here because we like cars. -
