Trev Vaa reacted to Thom in ways of repairing leaking simmons wheels,
It's good when wheels and tires are capable of retaining wind

-
Trev Vaa reacted to xm-221 in ways of repairing leaking simmons wheels,
As you've said, take the tyre off and run a bead of polyurethane around the inside join of the rim. -
Trev Vaa got a reaction from Thom in 393 or 408 stroker kits
personally wouldn't bother with a cast stroker kit, would go straight to forged, this way there's room for movement upwards power wise if you want (nitrous etc). or if you want something even higher quality, Callies
heads, either CHI 208s or 225s, id go with the 225s so i had room to upgrade, you'll need the extra cross sectional area if you want it to rev.
CHI make a dual plane manifold for the 208s and 225s that will make MASSIVE power, use it.
pistons? i go for something higher quality, for sure, ross, arias, or diamond.
cam as above, if you want it to be street friendly go hyd roller (no tappet adjustments), Thoms old man is making big power on a HYD roller motor.
no need for 4.11s unless you want to race it. 3.75s will pull along just fine.

you should see this once you take the housing off
if you see this, you need to get one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/351C-Bypass-Restrictor-Plate-Solid-Brass-Pantera-Mustang-All-Other-Clevelands-/171476456933?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27eccb15e5&vxp=mtr

Trev Vaa got a reaction from XTREME KARTS XF in My Clevo build - Thoughts
hey mate
just a tip, if you want to make it easy to drive, and easy to cruise with, go 3.25s in the ass with that combo
but get a WIDE ratio gearset for the toploader, will make it perfectly driveable on the street, nice and cruisy on the highway and the lower first and second gear will mean you can stomp it and not worry about it bogging down.
i'd say your bang on track with the combo you listed, should be really nice to drive, any idea what the heads will flow?
oh instead of isky, i use PSI springs, never had an issue with one, even after 5 years.

I had emailed these guys, they said they can do it. But just recently i noticed Simmons Wheels Australia facebook page advertised about changing wheels out to 17" or more.

Trev Vaa got a reaction from bear351c in XA,XB,XC B45 Simmons offset sizes?
depends how wide you want the wheels.
usually on simmons, i see the back half with .5" extra width
ex: 16x7 inners of 3.75" outers of 3.25" on a 225/50/16 tyre that works perfect on the front end.
i know that combo works first hand. you can go down to a .25" difference with ease (thats 6.35mm) with good clearance of front guards.

Trev Vaa reacted to ando76 in 351 clevo with 302 rods
sps pistons are very very good. You will not have any problems.
Agree Rob - I think its to do with the way they are made for a x flow and there is just not enough meat in the dead centre of the piston. When you see lots of pistons from different engines - all doing the same thing - you know there is a problem. Conversely when you see the wiseco's take an absolute flogging you know they are right.
