NZXD got a reaction from gerg in T5 onto 2L Pinto?
I did the 2.0 up in mine, nothing overly hard core, biggish cam (I'll find the specs), raised comp, the head had a bit of work, enlarged the exhaust valve from memory, bit of port n polishing and decked, adjustable vernier cam gear.
Induction was twin side draft webers, exhaust was some 4 into 1 headers and a 2.something inch pipe.
Light flywheel and the Sierra 5 speed.
Had a very nasty idle, similar to a Bridgeport rotary, pulled some good revs and went well for what it was.
Car was grey and dropped down on 13x7 hotwires.
Was cool in 1997/8.

I did a serria 5 sp conversion in the late 90s into my grey 83 Mk 5 ghia, wasn't that difficult from memory. I have a photo somewhere.

NZXD reacted to wagoon in Next Peice of the Puzzle Cont.
Hope you don't mind if I update here Jason. Car ran great and sounded really crisp with a slight note change to the crossy. The first run was just a shake down run, powered to 60 foot and coasted from there and still ran 15.05 off a soft launch. Next was a full run where he ran 11.76@115.07mph then backed up with 11.74@114.86. Jas said that 115mph is a PB so that is a win right there. The night was tricky for tuning as the conditioned changed several times so to keep improving in those condition with a brand new setup I think is a job well done.
I did take some vids but the lights were shining into the lens so its really bad.

NZXD got a reaction from XDPSI in XD turbo finally hit the rollers... Au Sohc/gas/stock bottom end
Cool another XD hunting the street for commodore victims. 10 years is a long build.....I'm at 8 years on my XD but I'm just waiting in my alternator and then it should be go go go.

NZXD reacted to gerg in t5 gear box
The 6 cyl ones had shorter 1-2-3 ratios (1st was 3.47) and V8 ones had 3.25 1st. The taller the ratio, the higher the torque rating. The T5Z had 2.95 1st and was the highest-rated factory T5 made. Your engine builder should be talking in torque figures not horsepower, as it's torque that kills a gearbox. Sure it could handle 500 hp on a rotary spinning to 9 grand with fuck all torque. See what I'm getting at?

NZXD reacted to Clevo120Y in Trickflow 170 heads
The XL run down the strip on Wednesday, 11.6 at 114mph, a problem has been discovered, the valve springs that got put in are only 110lbs on the seat which isn't enough for the roller cam, a change of springs is being done soon. We thought the headers were limiting the revs and power it seems to probably be valve float so more power to come from this nasty little 302.
