So here's Smithy's explanation of it.Windsor's issues is end float but more up and down due to pump load unlike a xflow which suffers more from the chain stretch.

"Ok so very common in Ford engines........ My race engines have done it, here's what it is,
The timing retards due to oil pump load, which forces the distributor up the gear on the camshaft. I usually check distributor end float which is the climbing the camshaft gear and retarding. Tighten the end float or raise the idle timing to say 40 to get 35 @ 6000. Make sense ??"

Now this guy use to build race engines for HRT for a living and has some of the fastest touring car masters cars getting around. Just saying...

So in the end as expected just bush the dizzy as tight as safe and give it more base timing then check timing @ 3000rpm,No biggy cuzzy

Jeesus, that has some epic over-run harmonics going on at speed......

The subwoofer vibrated itself across the floor, my desk split in two, the carpet started curling at the edges,
and I heard the neighbours yell EARTHQUAKE! and evacuate.

Less thinking more doing. Owning a crossflow is not about an intellegent decision, it an spiritual enlighten moment of glory. Plus they are a bloody good engine that run forever. See my previous statment about my wagon 200ci engine using 1 litre of oil/5000km service. The engine is running as good as ever, just need to check oil and make sure it doesnt get low on oil thats it. I look at it in a positive light though, my exhaust wont rust from the inside out due to the amount of oil being pumped through the exhaust.

Yeah, sounds like the same noise, i couldn't really think of a discription of it, i don't know what causes the noise but covering it in spray lube didn't help so it can lick dick, i'm not gonna play the 'lets fk with xfalcon windows' game, they suck.
Damn shame you busted the rubber, i don't think superglue will last too long though unfortunately. All mine are off XFs (being quite a few years newer than my XD)
I usually find the XF rubbers are still soft(ish) so hopefully you can find a replacement.
Pretty sure i've got a fat, but very short screw in my doors which replaced the tiny bolt and nut set-up, try that maybe?
Be sure to lube all the rubbers to keep them soft too.

Good stuff bud, done well. Bloody rubbers eh?! Shits of things. A bit of lube helps anytime you have to fk with rubbers, in bed and in the shed. lol.
You've reminded me of another job i haven't yet done on mine, i've gotta remove the winder/gear mechanism, really bloody noisy for some reason, i've sprayed with wd40 but that didn't help at all, very strange noise like it's tight, but it's not..... bloody thing! I think i'll just swap it all out of another door.

Fuck man, if I knew u were doing windows I would have advised u to give the neighbours ear plugs, most I've ever sworn outside work.
Especially when trying not to damage new paint

As a 17 it would look off the fucking planet. Still looks good. It's like the external Kylie vs Danii Minogue debate. You'd happily fuck either, but one you'd like to fuck a little bit more.

I agree. I like them as well but i want a 19 x9 or 19x10 for the rear with some dish.  I like to run a minimal of 275 rear tyres on a X series for that nice fat ass look.

Hmmm, are you guys sure they are not available yet? I'm near positive I've seen them on a few toranas months, possibly even a year, ago.

Edit: maybe they where just photoshops.

If they look like the one photoshopped on that torana, I think they could look pretty good on an X series.

Anyone willing to photoshop the photo on that eBay ad into a falcon?

My xb hardtop originally came from the dealer with a set, but these days 14x7 would look vomit, especially on a fat-arse coupe. They swallow 10s with 295 rubber and laugh at them
