if there is nothing wrong with the hoses I wouldnt bother. I like the push on one and once you figger out how to remove them its easy as to get them off. Like litterally seconds!! you have to push them on first then squeeze the 2 tabs either side while pushing on and hold them and pull off.....Friggin easy!!!!

Thing is there is a line that must be drawn sometimes.... How much is it going to cost to fix compared to just buying a good one. In saying that if the car has sentimental value or you were given the car it kinda changes things a little... A free car or just bought for sweet FA is good for learning stuff and fixing over time.

old cars are easier to fix, I dont consider an EF an old old car quite yet... Top of your list should be a Workshop Manual, Preferably a factory one if you plan on fixing it yourself. Tools....Dont buy shit tools, you will end up replacing them again and again and in the long term you are better off buying a decent set as it will work out cheaper. Buy them as you need them if strapped for coin. I have done work on my cars where the tools required totalled just as much if I got someone to do the job but I have got the tools to do the the next job (thereby saving money). Start of doing simple stuff that you feel you can do first... things like Oil change, spark plugs & filters and then tackle harder jobs as you go (did this with my kids)... Dont buy a car that needs major work if its going to be your only and daily driven car... Some engine swaps need 3 days, a butt load of tools and some mates to help... Crap if you need the car for work! Most stuff can be done in a day if you know what you are doing but if you dont....... Write out a list what needs done and tick off each one as you go... I have done a 1800 kay trip in my ZL last year, Adelaide to Melbourne, then ballarat and back to Adelaide and it didnt miss a beat.

I figure the 011 box would suit my purpose fine... Short 1st to get the Lane moving with 2.77 rear.... Best of both worlds -

I would be pulling the trans out again and fitting the converter to the trans then refitting it... Probably nothing wrong with the starter at all. Sent from my Moto G Play using Tapatalk

You would need a Dizzy to.... As the timing is controlled by ECU too (XF EFI they are) An electric fuel pump for a carby as well as there is no mechanical pump drive on a EFI camshaft.

Some of that may polish out.... The deeper ones as a quick fix get some paint that matches and with a small brush fill the scratch (may take a couple days over a weekend doing it in several layers once the previous layer has dried.... then wet sand lightly with 1500 or 2000 til level and then polish it. You may still see it up close but most people wont pick it from a small distance...
