LTD083 reacted to Mr Polson in XH XR8 trans changes down at 100km by its self to 3rd issue
I must admit my auto services have always been done by a mechanic with a flush machine, hook it up to the trans line and run the car, pumps old fluid out new fluid in, often takes 2x/3x times the fluid capacity to come out clean.
I've also been using Penrite for years, engine, diff, gearboxes (auto and manual), brake fluid, greases.
And Dave, as for why is TQ95 still on the shelf? Because Castrol is awful for updating their products, and representing and educating about their oils. I've been with Repco over 3 years now, and never seen a Castrol rep in either store I've worked in, and minimal product updates. Penrite I see a rep each fortnight, and continuous product improvements, new releases and product info.

LTD083 got a reaction from hendrixhc in installing electric windows into gl falcon
Sounds nasty!
I drill a hole through both parts of the regulator and stick a bolt through them before taking the motor off. Stops the spring from moving then.
Manual says to do it this way as well.

LTD083 reacted to Mr Polson in XA-XF vs XG Steering Box
Looking at getting an exchange power steering box for my XF, few places seem to list XA-XF and not list XG or have XG listed seperate.
Anyone know of any differences?

LTD083 reacted to Mr Polson in FIRST FALCON TODAYS DATE
Falcon name will be dead - I believe I read somewhere that Ford Aus thinks the name shouldn't be used on anything else given what it's came to mean to Australians.

I reckon i'll leave the slots as they are. Depends on how much damage the paint stripper does i suppose.
Should end up like this:

Masked up the wheel today, then primed/painted/clear coated
looks pretty darn good with the blk i reckon kinda reminds me the c4 corvette rims which i like, cant wait to finish the other 3.
Is there a way to wash or clean the polishing Wheels?

LTD083 got a reaction from Mr Polson in Leather Care and Maintenance
The key is to get them secured so they dont move around and rub the seats. A good quality set should do the job.
The set i have in the Territory have multiple straps to secure them and never move. I also take them off fairly regularly to wash them and no wear.

LTD083 reacted to xr6tjet in Anyone used these repro bumper chrome?
This stuff made by Ben at trimmaster is an exact replica 3m tape he had made up. You won't beat the quality! Wheel arch moulding is more for XE/XF

LTD083 reacted to agentkiwi in Help me work this out please.
Bizarrely I solved this issue.
First was a new battery. The old one was poked.
I found, cleaned, tightened every single earth I could find, then with the help of the manual and member VDO found & checked some more.
long story short, those bulbs draw a lot of voltage & the guage is just telling me this.
I replaced all park, tail/stop & indicator bulbs with LED's the indicator & park ones have a load resistor built in & what do you know.....problem solved. All guages are stable and accurate with no flicking, dropping or other weird shi*
Happy with the result. The LED's are as bright & I got the coloured ones to match the tail light lenses which helps a lot.

LTD083 reacted to Mr Polson in Trip Computer Stop Lamp Warning Problem
My XF wagon is 87 and doesn't have it.
But anyway. I FIXED MINE!! Ever since I've got it, the driver brake light has been dimmer than the other side. It blew today. So I replaced it, and thought while I'm at it I'll replace the other side.
Ta-da! No more warning light. So maybe try replacing all the globes?

If it makes sense and nothing else can explain it why not?
Think about it, how long could you hold 10 kgs at your side, as opposed to holding the same 10 kgs above your head!
