dex reacted to wagoon in Crossflow alloy head casting numbers
I was going to got a hydraulic with 225@50 before my roller cammed crossy came along. 500 holley with aussiespeed manifold, some standard size valves with a bit of home porting. I was going to go along with what the machine shop used in regards to cylinder head setup, just need to make sure you are confident in the machine shop you are using. You can pickup lots of little tid bits here and there on this site if you find a few people who you think know what they are talking about and read what they say in different threads, thats how I have learnt so much. Just keep in mind the discusions can get a little carried away and mild hydraulic cammed setups can turn into full blown race setups pretty quick as rebuild cost for a mild setup are not that far behind wild setups. But keep in mind the expensive part comes in supporting the power, ask me I know

anyway here are some better photos of the new ride height.
*notice in this photo the wheel alignment bar sitting behind the front wheel
pretty happy with hit for the most part.
nice amount of neg camber, plenty of adjustment in the shocks to make it super stiff, but thats no good for road use.

dex got a reaction from Outback Jack in Lights off
Is there a kit or something that shuts the lights off like on modern cars , to suit our ,,,,ahem ,, older vehicles,,?
Just the lights on when walking to the back door at night would be a handy feature,,,,,
not as if some dickhead had left his lights on today , only to come back to a " click click tick " moment ,,
not pointing fingers at anyone ..

Not the types ,,
intentionally leave lights on , to allow getting to the house ,,
then after a time ,, they turn off to save battery .
As modern equivalent

Skip smoothing paste and jump to extrusion honing...

Agreed ,,
have not noted anyone mentioning the smooth paste in any threads

You still need to port em...Some people use epoxies to seal up,remake or build up areas looking for gains. Simply putting goo in there and smoothing it will not improve anything.
Most leave a textured finish to the cyl heads and manifolds to help attomisation.

"On todays episode of Australian Cortina ...."
Bought some 3.5" mild steel exhaust pipe and a 90 mandrel bend. The bend wasn't tight enough for what I needed so had to make it all in pie cuts. Tig welded the lot and it turned out pretty good. Smoothed the welds off.
Got some smaller 90 bends for the wastegate pipes out of the turbo manifold and into the dump pipe. The Tial Wastegate came with the V Band clamps which was good. Worked out where to position it and welded the pipes in.
I'm gonna make a screamer pipe for it later so I can block off the dump pipe outlet and turn the wastegate and the screamer pipe will run down the side and into the trench I made before.
Next up, mount the radiator.
