Wes got a reaction from Outback Jack in Thom's 4.0l thread
Don't waste your time with the supercharger. For the effort involved the return is buckleys.
Even though I despise budget turbo builds, you would still be better off with an ebay special turbo build instead.

That's a good cast unit but most do it like this

Wes got a reaction from XDPSI in best way to remove stains
They say prevention is better than cure. Try not to masterbate in your car

Wes got a reaction from XTREME KARTS XF in Clutch time... What type and from where? 4.0 Sohc turbo xd
Excedy HD are shit for turbos. Will wear out quick. You will need a custom made one by a guy who knows his shit. 3500 lb brass button with the pivot point moved to make engagement easy. It will still carry on a little like a brass button should, ie with shudder but it will bite and bite hard and work well. But changing the pivot point allows for easy foot pressing and releasing.
Anything else is junk.

Got one for $50.00 if interested. Just oil and filter change as you usually do with any swap over and away she goes. Oh yeah, sensible people also do a sump gasket when doing the above too.

Wes reacted to xg ute in Wastegate positioning
I would say wes has given the best advice in this thread.
Why take a chance at ruining a turbo housing if you have a steel manifold that is easily cut and welded. People giving advice that Welding mild steel to cast is easy and wont crack are just telling you storys and haven't really done it themselves. So why take a chance. My advice would be to put a hole where wes showed. The smoother the path into a y will work very well.

Wes reacted to steve mcqueen in Ed diff into xf
Ando, you gota swap bushes around use, half ED and half XF. I did this conversion a few months ago and I had to use xf bushes in the ED trailing arms to go onto the car. You will have to get the old ones pressed out so the new ones can get pressed in. Its easy peasy. Oh and you will have to get a hose conector for the brake line.
You can get that from pirtek?

upper same
lower different if xr6
not sure if different on standard sedans
Best swap you will make in your car along with getting rid of the big piece of shit they call a crossflow

Wes reacted to Crazy2287 in Where to mount Water Temp Sensor. Top hose, bottom hose, tstat, block?
If its controlling thermo fans IMO, bottom hose. This is because you want Radiator temp/efficiency, not engine temp.
If you want to know engine temperature, top hose, but only if your not running a thermostat. If you are running a thermostat, take the temperature form the stok location in the head.

Wes got a reaction from n00bus m@x1mus in Megasquirt Updates
You can fit the squirt up into the glovebox up high with the port pointing out or a serial extention wired up and routed around. Cables are tougher lol. When cunts open your box you can say "tuned motherfuckers".
With a bluetooth, pfft, cunts will think you're looking up porn lol

Wes got a reaction from n00bus m@x1mus in Wideband sensor port position
Too much internet jargon. Fit them on the main collector, it will be fine. Perpendicular to the pipe. No hassles Don't fit them before all pipes have merged into the large collector.

Wes got a reaction from revhead in twin LPG port so i can run twin lines
Sorry. When you said duo valve, for some reason I thought you meant a twin line Y piece. If you mean the combination relief and service line then yes, get one of those, another service line, A plain filler line and guage.
Whilst your buying bits, get the guage converter to mate to your x series.

Where the fuck would we be without Gaz setting shit straight hahahaha

Wes reacted to Gaz in changing sump without pulling motor
Didn't we have this conversation back in the old place, and the consensus was that it took longer to read the thread than pull the motor out?

Wes reacted to Crazy2287 in changing sump without pulling motor
Done it before. Seriously. I fkn hated it. Pull the engine out. Especially if your engine is carby.
Alternatively. Cut the fkn crossmember out and make a bolt on one. That crossmember gives me the shits.

Just dumb and lazy. Don't do it. Engine out in an hour max is piss easy with crossies.
