dont cut a thing just unplug it

i dont think you understand or i didnt explain it right ,get the EA2 only harness <NOT EB> not good it must be EA2 harness!

THE reason you keep getting confused is because the ED harness is a one piece harness that loops the engine bay left to right ,forget the ED all together because all your using is the motor and box,

    il start again

1, EA engine harness which has the computer plug on it and the computer ,dizzy plug temp and oil sender and injection plug and runs up to the top of the passenger side fire wall and over the top of the heater into the cabin and behind the left hand kick panel thats it ,nothing to do with headlight wiring

2, you leave the stock xf harness were it is ,

3, under your brake booster or in that area there is an 6 or 8 pinned square white plug ,thisplug has the starter wire ,the temp and oil sender wires etc you need to join these up to the EA2 ,engine harness ,

4, none of the ED wiring is of any use to you at all!

5 if your xf had a efi 6 then your ok because the fuel pump will run the 4ltr

6, if your xf was carby you will need to fit an external hipo fuel pump or fit an efi tank and pump

7, the EA 2 engine harness is a 1 metre long harness  that stands alone from every other part of the wiring on an EA2

if it was me doing it ,id fit efi tank and pump from an XF,fit the fuel lines from the ED,make a simple link harnes from XF to EA harness and having running in 2 days

as i said you can use an EA  series two harness thiswill work ,dont use the ed harness your just wasting your time ,

ive done this type of engine swaps into xa,xb,xc xd ,xe xf,s and i always use the ea 2 harness

this way you can use your original ignition if you fuck around using the ed harness the ignition will not fit your bigger rounder steering colomn ,and then theres heaps more worries using the ed harness this is one,

i own a restoration business and do hundreds of conversions

the only thing you need to do is fit the ea2 harness in the xf zl wiring holes through the fire wall ,make the white xf zl wiring plug under the brake booster plug into the ea 2 harness it is really easy to do ,if u have any question please ask

steve mcqueen reacted to gromet88 in Anyone here fitted an EFI 302w into an XB? Any issues?
i would say all is different. power steering lines, right through to bell housing bolts will be totally different.

the set up is totally different from the early early x series to the e series and you will have a different sump pan/ clearance as well. the engine mounts would be different as well (from memory). it'll be basically like doing a e series set up into an xf.

all from memory, from what i remember a friend doing a nc2 302 into a XB.

REV will be the best to answer i think, but the question must be asked, what the hell happened to the 351?

A ghosted ford emblem would look cool, either that or FPR racing logo?  Something like that would be cool.

Id be more impressed if I could see the results of the items in this clip a couple of days after they have dried. Also show us removing the paint, scratching it up with a piece of 36 grade paper just to prove "its an actual painting process"
Whats the stuff coming from the spray gun at the beginning of the clip? They painting the water with ???? and why.

I see this maybe getting bigger in the future, good for painting custom bikes and what not but right now, I don't think it has a huge market.

    What prep goes into this?

To many questions un answered for a 14 minute vid clip.

i did some research last night, as a paint guy i understand little of it lol but its supposed to be dureable, the spray they put on initially is a reactive agent to start the sepeartion process

Sweet, think I'll leave it for now and see how it goes. I don't ever remember seeing any foam tears ago when the screen came out.

also the rate spares rear screen seal is top notch, put one in and its perfect.

I know u said 2pack but i cant recommend killrust epoxy enamel enough. Its the best ive ever seen as an engine enamel, just degrease it down, gerney off and apply with your favourite paint brush and it flattens out with a high gloss finish. Sticks like shit to a blanket and is pretty much completely resistant to solvents, 12 months on and it still just need a degrease and gerny off to look like it did the day i painted it. I cant say for head but as i only did the block but i did try an exhaust manifold and it burnt it off everywhere except the flange area. Only downfall is the lack of range in colours but they do black in 3 types of finish.

You can also use EB Falcon engine mounts on your engine, they bolt to the block and the existing XF engine mount plates (I did this with my 4 litre conversion)
I used an XD accelerator cable just tweeked it a tiny bit on the hole where it clips on to the TB on the EF efi.
I used the XG sway bar. (to clear the sump)
and I used a Bosch 044 external fuel pump
with a return line to the tank.
All went into an XD conversion. XF would be the same.
Being a speedway car where do you run the radiator?

I also used the header tank from the EF in my conversion and relocated the battery to the boot.

Throw some pics up of this bad boy and your conversion, many of us would love to see it.

XA-XF P/S boxes have an imperial thread for the high pressure line, XG P/S have metric thread for the high pressure line.

As far as I know they aren't, probably best off to use the factory power and earth wires and wire the rest in from scratch
