Mr Polson 10,214 Posted July 14, 2016 Looking at getting an exchange power steering box for my XF, few places seem to list XA-XF and not list XG or have XG listed seperate. Anyone know of any differences? 1 LTD083 reacted to this

hendrixhc 10,921 Posted July 14, 2016 Turning circle on my XG is shit. Is that the same on the XF. My Xc seems fine.
Defective 1,692 Posted July 14, 2016 My xf has the turning circle to rival a oil tanker... 3 tpak addict, EgoXF and Valvebouncer reacted to this
Mr Polson 10,214 Posted July 14, 2016 As in different so the XF lines won't bolt up? Poor turning circle is typical of XF power steer. My ute (manual steer) turns in like half the circle of the wagon (power steer). I take it most places would fit the needle roller bearing when they reco them/you get an exchange one. SPArKy_Dave 8,910 Posted July 14, 2016 My wagons have a decent turning circle. The XF ute I've driven, seemed much worse. My XG's seem to have decent turning circles. All power steering. Reco'ing a power steering box is pretty straightforward. Have a go.
CHESTNUTXE 7,363 Posted July 14, 2016 same the ute i bought has a bad turning circle.
FOMOCOHO 882 Posted July 15, 2016 Power steer box on my XD ute is by far a much better turning circle than the manual steer sedan I had. First thing I noticed about XH was that rack & pinion power steer was worse turning circle than the XD box... but it may depend on which box you have, 20:1 or 16:1. tpak addict 1,909 Posted July 15, 2016 LSD does help James in the wet and also allows you to drift like a pro in a ZL
Lord_fahrquhar 2,580 Posted July 16, 2016 Most shops put the xg roller in them when they reco them. Its a different cover plate as well to take the roller bearing instead of a bush. Mind you 600 hp and 165 section tyres = no problems on turning radius.
