what have i gotten myself into? haha

    wait its not so bad....

    Parcel shelf out.
This is getting a little more complex

Kick panel off, ok now its getting serious 😮

interestingly the colour behind the kick panel is actually darker, much like another factory green that is darker...

it still amazes me how clean this is. no matter where i look, no rust.

ok now you've done it Panko. the passenger seat has been removed, and there is wires everywhere.
So much for a simple rewire of the radio *facepalm*
    Enter snowball affect 😬

    Ok Ok ill explain.

I realised that there was some dodgy wiring going on with the radio.
then there was my rushed wiring when i installed the sub and amp, and the tacho. The resolve? TO REPLACE IT ALLLLLLL!!!! 😜😼

The tacho feed wire - too short to run it properly, and to its potential new location
Amplifier constant power supply - too short to run it properly
Signal cable from radio to sub amp - too short for radio to go into its new location
Speaker wires - no joins from radio harness to speakers in the doors - cut and put plugs in line

I cant wait to have this finished and all tidied up.

I have an oil pressure gauge and volts gauge here. they are Veglia Bortelli brand. turns out they are from a Jaguar XJ6. But i do not have a pressure sender unit, but know the part number for the jaguar sender unit, that this gauge would have been installed in.
SO, i wonder if an XJ6 sender would fit the escort block? They are both british, and 70s cars.

I've had this problem on an xf Ute, just how it was built is the conclusion I came to. You don't notice it till you fit wheels that struggle to fit under the guards. Also had similar issues on the front.

I think you will find the offset from the bearing to flange is different, I'd guess around 15mm. The flange would foul on the drum brake internals, I could be wrong.

    Yes.

winton reacted to gerg in Crossflow Problem (breaks down at 3500 rpm)
If it's only triggering a relay, then it will be as good as 12 volts. Being a resistance wire in series with another resistor (the coil), the voltage drop at the coil + is dependent on the resistance of the coil itself. A resistor resists current, not voltage. It results in going from about 8 amps of draw from a coil to about 20mA of a relay. This gives the resistance wire bugger all current to resist, so voltage barely changes.

You might be onto something there... Not sure how these calibration loops work as I run a programmable MSD but if it thinks it's a 4 cyl, and you have a 6000 limit, that makes it a 4500 limit on a 6.

its' triggering a relay though, then 12V direct to the MSD, good thought though, it would have been resistor wire originally as to drop the coil voltage with points.

i'm not up with what fuel flow is needed for a hot crossflow at full noise,  but as gerg said above, stick it on a dyno you'll be able to monitor O2 readings if its losing fuel, or probably be also able to monitor spark disappearing as it has to be one or the other.

other than lifter preload/valve lash.. could be holding valves open at certain revs? no idea tbh, just another thought to consider

Nope, all these items were pretty quickly either sold or disposed of. I’ve tried for years to get the specific notes on the items and their special runs but no one can tell me what they actually looked like so to speak and what their model numbers etc were so it’s really just a hidden secret

They were only a run in the FCs, from 1979 through to late 1980. I have seen some 81 plated ones but I suspect they were actually made a year or so before and sat at the factory awaiting the order. I would think they made them in one hit but maybe with a few blank spots in case someone wanted something odd. The exact number so to speak, is very sketchy but the registered number is 400. So many have been wrecked over the years and there were actually a few that didn’t receive the special option code on the vin plate for some reason so it’s very hard to actually pin point the actual number. Ford did some weird stuff back then.

The Cartier wasn’t actually ‘officially’ a model, only a package

    Hi All,
Anyone had issues with the street fire ignition box's, in particular the rev limiter?
I had it set at 6500, haven't hit it, or not sure if it was even working but today it came on a few times some where around 4500 to 5000, at least thats what i assumed the problem was. I turned it up to 6800 and the issues seemed to go away.
Just wondering if this is a common issue with the ignition box or not?

Hi all, been quite awhile since I been in here. Ended up facing facts that I'd never get around to repainting my corty, so i put it back together so to enjoy it again. Should be a picture attached below. Pretty happy with how its running, I just whooped a vz v8 Calais not sure if it was a 5.7 or 6.0 but mehh, seen him roll down his window behind me when we were cruising, I'm guessing so he could confirm he just got done by a 6 haha.
