No not a tuff Cortina but wasn't a show yours thread.
Looking through old photo albums tonight looking for a pic of my grandfathers F350 and found this.
This is my mums first car, TE X-Pak, 2.0lt, 4spd man, she swaped it with my grandfather for (now mine),
'83 silver XE S-pak after my little bro was born, he later sold to a friend of his. and lately been thinking of getting one my self.

Very Nice just like what I want. I've been wanting to buy one for years but they are always to expensive or selling when I haven't got the money.
My Grandfathers old 73-76 F350 was brought by a local panel beaters, BTB smash repairs in Bendigo and was turned into a Beaver tail when he traded it in back in around '89.

FORD_MAN reacted to slydog in Exhaust Backpressure
Its got very very little to do with back pressure and more about flow and sonic waves in the exhaust.
To quantify that statement I run twin 2.5" exhaust on a NAT ASP 250 4.1 ltr engine. Even modern cars run big twins on small engines these days.

FORD_MAN got a reaction from PRO250 in Air tool oiling when working on primer bare metal?
Yeah I have one of them works well the sanding dust also sticks to the oil on the exhaust and sokes some up,
just oil a little at a time if you try and give it a glug of oil it will squirt it out the exhaust. Just uses air tool oil.
Best way is to get a inline oiler just fill it up set the rate.

FORD_MAN got a reaction from gerg in General Carby Questions
had a 50cc pump, but was leaking from a punched on cap, on the top of the fuel bowl so I upgraded to a better version, rather then paying $200 to get it fixed
still got it in the shed.

crickey Greg that holley looks like it came off the arc, old removable top one.
my old 6210 spread bore 650dp used to do that, going from the little high vacumn primarys to the big secondaries,
went so lean I had to pump the pedal to stop it from stalling. fixed with a HP street 650DP.

Yes gerg, but for the same money as a Holley 0-80458SA, I got the quickfuel with the extras it has over the Holley.
will make it a lot nicer for tuning,

FORD_MAN got a reaction from Mixalis in C1A head qtn
Yeah my CNC ported C2 is 49cc due to the EVL valves having a dished face & smoothing the sharp point in the chamber.

FORD_MAN got a reaction from wagoon in Wagon Exhaust
We have same type of exhaust on my mums EA sedan works well but not loud enough, but standard cats are like a resonator,
My XF ute & my brothers XE wagon have the same exhuast bar the fatory manifold & cat on the XF and there's a big difference in sound.

Cast 29cc pistons preped stock rods this thing has been 9.27 at 146mph and is reason enough for me to stay with my cast slugs and stock rods

FORD_MAN got a reaction from slydog in Tuned extractors
My Proflow Cleveland extractors on my black ute are made from 316,
from memory stainless works in usa say, 316 is better for regular hi temp conditions like race extractors or turbo manifolds & 304 for exhausts
my AU utes extractors are 304 and where fitted 3 years ago. As is the 100 cell cat section I made for it and 7 year old 3" twin tip.
which is 2nd hand milk line from a dairy supplies place, my dad worked it cost 1/2 price of new tube.

FORD_MAN reacted to TF_250 in Next Peice of the Puzzle Cont.
Went Out On Wednesday night for a few test runs. The weather is finally coming good and the performance fo the car is now showing. The best the crossflow did was 11.582 @ 114.44 at -414 ft altitude in the dead of winter, raced the other night at 550ft and netted the times below. There is more in this yet still getting our heads around the new motec tuning style. I also get the car back down to the same weight as when the crossflow was in it so i can have a real compare of the performance of the 2 engines.
