Grimmy got a reaction from Luke13 in 450 quickfuel installation help
Easy , get rid of all of it . How many hoses are coming out of the firewall ?
you will need to hook up some of the hoses out of the firewall to make the dash controls work
what distributor are you using ?

Grimmy got a reaction from motoSycho in New Motor for Rods Mad Maxy Ute
That’s a standard redline manifold . I have a couple and the angle looks the same . I wouldn’t worry about it

91 cam in the T head it is then .
Thinking about changing the head vs just the last adjuster is that I have the parts and it's got 250+kms and is really slow lol
more comp is always good
as far as manifolds . Being an eb I don't have bbm control , would it be worth fitting the bbm and the actuator just to manifold vacuum ?
I read somewhere that an el ecu can be retrofitted without too much drama ?
Do xr6 ecu have different tune ?
Edit . Turns out the noisy lifter was no6 intake . Swaped it out and all good .
But still don't explain 60psi down on no3 cyl lol

Grimmy got a reaction from CHESTNUTXE in Globe style wheels
Didn't the xy gt have globes ?
Thinking i will clean up the flat lip set , put some tyres on and use those . Then get rid of the other 2 sets lol I really really want to burn the eagers into the ground (245/60 with near new tread but old and hard) unless they're worth something these days ?

Grimmy got a reaction from Mixalis in Electrical Issue - 250 Crossflow
I've had a hall pick up fail . 304holdens have dramas with them too . Something to think about .
When it won't start can you do the 'msd check' and makes a spark ?
I think you ground the white? mag pick up Wire

El is probably the better option . I don't understand why they went to coil pack on ef then changed back to dizzy for el and then back to coil pack for au . Stupid ford

Grimmy got a reaction from xhadyboy in Driving light recommendations please
I'm old school but I think the best bang for you buck driving light are the good old aircraft landing light if you can find some !!
Chuck some fresh 150w sealed beams in and your set

Grimmy got a reaction from wagoon in figuring out cam specs
The way I understand it , lift and tighter lsa = torque . But the less lobe separation means the power comes on quicker but falls over quicker aswell .

Grimmy got a reaction from wagoon in water pump and high engine rpm
I don't know the exact size of the waterpump pulley but I'm pretty sure it's the same size as the std harmonic balancer , so would drive 1.1 normally .
So to work it out you divide the circumference of the driven pulley (waterpump) by the driving pulley ( crank) and the alternator is an idler so it has no effect
I think !

Grimmy got a reaction from Bill Wilson in XH Ute "Idiot needs help" on transmission, distributer and vaccums
I had a very similar problem with an ef i had . Turned out to be a fuel pump !
I don't know what the procedures are to check them as I had a pump at arms reach , banged it in and it was fine .
