Shove a long rod, or Phillips head in one of those 2 big holes on the arched gear (top left) before you undo all the bolts on the geardrive, use an old battery or 12V to spin the motor, you'll see what I mean when you're doing it. The spring is VERY strong.!

has same motor converted to carb in it ,,
fits well with the xf style heater box .

Thats exactly the direction i was going with the question , 
have heard of pushrods being bent trying to fight against valve spring tension . 
Ive always done rockers up by winding over to get the cam lobe away from the lifter on each available cylinder 

im just waiting for the sticker kit to come,will finish it off nicely,i also sold the auto that came out of the car some doods picked it up this morn.

OK 1 crossflow ready for another life,this was just a block this morning.

Bottom end done lets have a coffee and then put the head on and lifters ect

I don’t want to sound like a smart arse but I think dex might have been suggesting that the motor should be turned over so that when pulling the rockers down that it’s not fighting valve spring tension. That’s just the way I understood what he was saying as previous conversation was that the motor shouldn’t be turned over too much without oil being properly primed up

Few drops of oil in the cylinders ,, see if compression reading changes 

Has new control arms on the diff all round ,,
new shocks and rubbers ,," did it before all the new gear went in it . "
Just some times coming down from say 20 kph to stand still in mingling traffic ,, and only every now and again , like weeks apart ,, it will do it . 
Real rythmic clonk clonk clonk noise with what feels like a sort of hopping feel ,,
like when you see a full locker diff doing a U turn feel . 
Odd ..
will replace the uni joint ,,see if its that .

Ol mate recons this is not a full bumper tho . 
Thought the millenium one was a full bumper .
It " slips over" the orig bumper and screws in under the no; plate and some on the lips in the wheel well . 
Ill visit him and get some decent pix to bung up on the site here .
