Well the strip out of the old beacon has begun tell you what it didn't want to come out as the car was pretty fucking bent
We had to take the gearbox and the bell off cause the car was squashed around them but all seams to be ok. Tomorrow the teardown of the new one starts with any luck should be running by tomorrow night

Because i can and want too, it'll see the track and other events when ever i get the chance but It'll primarily be a fun toy. Its a Hobby and i could find a million other things to spend my money on but i enjoy cars, i know i'll lose money on it but thats not what its about. i'm not a fan of new cars to many problems, can never do things to em as simply as older cars to many technologies get in the road lol

Gday all. When I started this th read it was to get an idea of what peoples thoughts on this were. I've always been curious about doing it but was never sold on the idea. XPTcrossy link to the megajolt would probally be the best option for spark control. At the end of the day it was just an idea. I could see the cost of a conversion like this getting up pretty quickly and if I was going to play with a six again id throw the money into one of my trusty tractor motors. Until l then i will stick to my clevos and weezors. Cheers for every ones input

thanks guys i gave up trying to do that.

So Mossy backed up the 11.04 from a week ago with a 11.10 11.08 and 11.05 all @ 119mph plus on Wednesday night.But...the kicker is it ran a 1.501 60ft.Sure is getting out of the hole for a foot brake NAT ASP 250.You can smell a 10 sec pass form this car.

That sounds like about 300 amp. You can never go too big except if your limitation is cost and weight. At that distance I'd twin it (if you have enough) to allow for voltage drop. A bloody decent set of jumper leads will often mean the difference between working and failing. You'll break your back carrying them though. Same goes for batt cables (and batteries)... Just get the biggest, dumbest meat-axe battery and cables and you're already ahead.

Well as some of you know my old car was shortened thanks to a wall at heathcote.
But thanks to Dave and all the time he spends on stalkbook I just purchased a new beacon. I will pick it up this week then the fun begins again. Here are some pics of it from stalkbook
So it's a 2 owner car and looks to be in great nick so I'm a very happy man ATM
