Is there a kit or something that shuts the lights off like on modern cars , to suit our ,,,,ahem ,, older vehicles,,?
Just the lights on when walking to the back door at night would be a handy feature,,,,,

not as if some dickhead had left his lights on today , only to come back to a " click click tick " moment ,,
not pointing fingers at anyone ..

Thought I put up a small build that I'm under taking on the XF Ghia, originally I wanted to keep it 100% original so that meant no LS or Barra swaps.

So after reading through a number of turbo crossflow builds and write ups that is the direction I am taking.

So to date I have the following parts:

Crossflow turbo manifold - individual runner style.
    3 inch dump pipe.
    External waste gate.
    42lb injectors
    Walbro fuel pump
    600mm x 300mm fmic

Next to be purchased over the next two weeks.
Turbo - not sure exactly which.
    Intercooler piping.
    Microtech LT10c ECU

I have located a C4 and Crossy bellhousing which is located in Darwin - thanks to Xelisty.

    Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Sorry Dale, are you saying the repro caps don't actually sit flush on some genuine esp wheels? Or that even the original ford caps did not sit flush on some of the wheels?

Bit of thread mining here, but is it correct to say that if i was to paint up a set of ea or xf ghia snowies in esp gold and purchase a set of esp repro caps form ebay that said caps wont sit flush with the wheel face?
I want to make up a set but don't want them to look dodgy...

Been a while since I posted so I thought an update was in order. Had a guy who builds turbo motors come and have a look at the bitch and he was straight up with me about what was required.
He estimate of what it would cost to rebuild the motor, set up a decent engine management system and all the other crap necessary to make a reliable street car has forced me to look at other options.

My thoughts now are leaning towards a turbo barra transplant, most likely from an fg falcon.

The search has now begun for an fg turbo motor with all the bolt ons, computer and loom.

Idle Speed Control. Lives on top of the throttle body. I drilled and tapped a tapered bolt into the side of it that limits the travel of the plunger inside. Instead of 1500, I got it idling sweet at 850. It also used to hang up between gear shifts but this fixed it. Backyard mechanics at its best lol

SirkWhyXF reacted to ando76 in High energy/performance/high capacity sump vs standard. What do I really need?
The engine, when fitted to the Cortina, had a performance sump.  That is part of the answer for me.  Another part comes in 'high comp solid cam) description, followed by power cruise and drag use. For me the question answers itself.
All engines benefit from having more oil to scavenge from, particularly when pushed and oil temp rises. I have an xf high energy (before they went offshore) sump here that I would gladly swap for your sump.

It's all bolt in. If you can see it in my tiny avatar picture, the front valance, side skirts and rear valance are all steel. Link to build thread.

Genuine ones were 19" and didn't come in E series offset, so yes copies. If they are clean and the tyres are near new its not far off.

As stated already they are BA gtp wheels, but being they came off an EL they are most likely aftermarket copies in the correct offset for pre AU vehicles. If not they are the original ford wheels in the wrong offset for falcons befor AU's an the EL was running spacers in which case if you grab the spacers and use them on the xe you will have no issues.
Stud pattern is the same on all falcons (excepts for the xp's back i think?) just the offset changed with the au.
Basically if they fit on an el they'll fit the xe. I've had dark argent typoon copies in pre au offset on my xf and ed.
