Mr Polson got a reaction from Free.51 in Wipers just stopped😮
While you have it out and apart, BA wiper motors fit straight on, you just have to rewire the plug, they're quoted, faster and better...

well here it is. 13s finally fitted to the car.Â

Ok so I am pretty wrapped with the way its come up.Â
When i first fitted them and lowered the car down off the jack, i immediately wanted to put the 15s back on. i did not like them haha.Â
but the more i look at the car, with the ride height, and the dish on the wheels, and the negative camber up front, the more I really like these wheels Â
Â
It has opened a new can of worms however Â
Im going to remove the drums and paint them. it looks shocking now that I can see the rusty drums, and I desperately need to sort out some centre caps for the wheels.Â
Â
It drives much much better. the vibration/shudder is 99% gone. its so minor now it feels like the road surface being rough is the only thing causing vibrations. however I am going to loosen all the tapered wheel nuts, and carefully do them up to make sure the wheels are properly seated and central on the hubs. otherwise, I am happy Â

Mr Polson got a reaction from macman in XD Ute factory/dealer window stickers
All I've ever seen in the back window of them that looks factory has been a dealership sticker.
Â
Grafix Unlimited has a heap of retro styled accurate Ford dealership stickers.

Mr Polson got a reaction from SPArKy_Dave in Xf A/C COMPRESSOR
My old Ghia had the vacuum tank in the plenum, that was unleaded EFI. -

Mr Polson got a reaction from gerg in BW Diff Rebuild: a Walk-Through
XF utes and vans all had drum, right to the end of production. Wasnt until XG they swapped over to disc, and as Dean said they're solid disc. XF had vented on the rear, with similar (maybe same) calipers as XG/early E series.

I also agree with this. Had it happen to me before.Â
This is the part in question - metal box next to relay

If you look near the relays you will see a circuit breaker. It looks like a square metal block with 2 large wires going to it. This will be corroded internally and failing.

Mr Polson got a reaction from Valvebouncer in AU 4.0 MLS OE head gasket question.
Wish more people knew this. I've had multiple customers want us to order in a new gasket for them because their MLS gaskets has "seperated" before they installed it

That’s normal. The outer sides bond to the head and block then the middle layers can more and slide as the engine heats up and in some cases overheats ( over expands ) but doesn’t blow out the gasket.

Mr Polson reacted to bear351c in oil change
Change the filter. It's a good habit to get into, on ANY vehicle.Â
-
Mr Polson got a reaction from deankxf in oil change
If you're not going to change the filter, don't bother changing the oil. Once the filter is dirty, it cant hold anymore contaminants, and will either clog up and cause low oil pressure or allow the contaminants back through the motor, meaning its not doing its job.

Mr Polson got a reaction from SPACK in XF EFI Fuel problem?
You've got glass headlights, so the toothpaste or sanding won't work, that's for more modern cars with the plastic headlight lenses

Mr Polson got a reaction from Valvebouncer in XF EFI Fuel problem?
The ISC (Idle Speed Control) governs the idle by allowing certain amounts of air to bypass the throttle butterfly - like when AC is engaged or for fast idle on cold starts, but base idle is still set by winding a screw on the throttle body.
