CHESTNUTXE 7,321 Posted November 2, 2017 this is a CQ model cast throttle body and plate, entry level performance carb from here they just go up in price big time, good looking carby has plenty of features including 2 nice stickers 1 matt_lamb_160 reacted to this
CHESTNUTXE 7,321 Posted November 2, 2017 i also noticed it has a 4.five powervalve fitted already, that will be very close to what size i will need for the crossy as it has quite a lumpy cam, most other holleys will have a six .five as std then measure with vaccum guage to suit,i plan to set this thing up east/west,and might pull the engine out soon for dummy fit just for a look. CHESTNUTXE 7,321 Posted November 2, 2017 and while at it just a dummy fit of pacemakers,is that gasket around the right way ? seems plug access is fouled, should the flat side of the gasket face outwards or inwards like the way it is atm ? or just trim it to suit ? seems it fits many crossy combo's ,bronco, cortina ,iron head ? 351XD_Fairmont 604 Posted November 2, 2017 That carby looks like a nice compact unit, seems much smaller physically than my Holley, could be the camera angles though 1 CHESTNUTXE reacted to this
CHESTNUTXE 7,321 Posted November 2, 2017 only thing im worried about is one of those long throttle return brackets when fitting east west, inline is not a problem.

If the holes line up and the ports are sealed, you could trim the rest no probs. Could also be upside down? Sent from my CPH1607 using Tapatalk
slydog 7,873 Posted November 2, 2017 Take the pipes off and line the gasket up and take a photo Front 3 face backward's or towards the rear rear 3 face forwards or towards front of car...from memory. 1 CHESTNUTXE reacted to this

CHESTNUTXE 7,321 Posted November 2, 2017 because the r/cover is taller than usual,im worried the throttle cable mounting east/west will be a problem maybe, unless using a 2 inch or 3 inch spacer to prop the carby up higher, has anybody run into this problem before ? Mustardxf2 310 Posted November 2, 2017 Buy a bracket and find out, I will have to trim mine about half an inch to not stall on the rocker cover, the with 2" apacer.Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk 1 CHESTNUTXE reacted to this
CHESTNUTXE 7,321 Posted November 2, 2017 ok thanks what throttle cable are you using ? the std or v8 longer one ?
Mustardxf2 310 Posted November 2, 2017 Xg one, but running it east west I believe a standard crossflow one would be long enough since it's the same throttle configuration as the Weber Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk 2 CHESTNUTXE and Outback Jack reacted to this

deankxf 20,294 Posted November 5, 2017 isn't it an oil pressure safety switch? (separate switch added with a T piece on BGDAV's XE) the instructions above show "optional" oil pressure switch, built in power cut when no oil pressure.. you should have a fuel cut in case of crash, either with the above oil pressure one, or even used a LPG safety cut (you had one in that car, i remember a pic) to cut the fuel pump if the motor stalls(in a crash etc) the gemini i have, gets it's signal from the alternator but the lpg cut gets it from negative coil, (tacho signal) 2 Outback Jack and gerg reacted to this
