vanJack 43 Posted April 25, 2016 The "Option 20" is stamped in the ID plate. Any one know what it is?
Defective 1,692 Posted April 25, 2016 Police van I think.
vanJack 43 Posted April 25, 2016 Correct. But what is it? What's actually different?
Mr Polson 10,214 Posted April 25, 2016 Auto shift pattern was different, in the sedans they had slightly lower (XR6) suspension.
deankxf 20,288 Posted April 26, 2016 speedo had finer increments on earlier models, assume same for XH rough screw holes in the dash etc where cop stuff was mounted
2redrovers 21,400 Posted April 26, 2016 They couldn't drive past a Krispy Kreme without stopping and created an uncontrolled desire in the driver to pull over any nice lowered cars "just for routine checks" 1 user272 reacted to this
SPArKy_Dave 8,871 Posted April 26, 2016 Factory ABS and Airbag, and Column shift auto with Bucket seats.
SPArKy_Dave 8,871 Posted April 26, 2016 And maybe RFI shielded ECU.
deankxf 20,288 Posted April 26, 2016 And maybe RFI shielded ECU. is that the plastic doover.. i thought it was water proofing it for antenna wire leaks(My XG has this if so)
SPArKy_Dave 8,871 Posted April 26, 2016 usually a metal shield around the plug. They all seem to have that plastic cover thingy. 2 XTREME KARTS XF and Outback Jack reacted to this
vanJack 43 Posted May 3, 2016 There's a bunch of screw holes in various places in the back.. I'm guessing some sort of cage.. no vent in roof, so probably not dog. I know it's a divvy vehicle cause the owner's manual says NSW POLICE SERVICE ENFIELD. So....SPArKy Dave.. bucket seats and column auto.. your right. There's no console.. pain in the arse.. got to sort that.. what does RFI sheilded mean..? So is that all Option 20 is..ABS and Airbag, Buckets and Column shift, RFI shielded ECU, and maybe different shift pattern on the auto (thanks Mr Polson).... and possibly finer increments on the speedo (thanks deankdx) btw they're 2 kl increments ( don't know what's normal)....? Also there's some extra wiring to the front that's going nowhere and a guard around the front number plate that had what looks like the bottom bit of an aerial..? Thanks.. deankxf 20,288 Posted May 3, 2016 the non cop ones are 5kmh increments. cops should have no excuse speeding, you'd assume they'd be accurate also... seeing its so dangerous doing 2kmh over, why don't normal cars have this accuracy. (moreso, why not better driver training like cops get....wonder if they are taught how to keep it within the speed limit) 1 XTREME KARTS XF reacted to this
Mr Polson 10,214 Posted May 3, 2016 EL Opt 20 you could also adjust the speedo, hold the trip reset button in for 10 or 15 seconds at speed and then you could speed it up or slow it down.

Yeah that's the other thing - the user can calibrate the EF/EL/XH speedo's in diagnostic mode, on the police clusters. Sometimes, the interior light was also disabled on police vehicles. http://www.fordmods.com/ford-technical-document-instrument-diagnostics-d12 http://www.fordmods.com/ford-4l-and-6-cylinder-f1/ef-el-dash-diagnostic-mode-t968.html 1 XTREME KARTS XF reacted to this
