TBH Cav having used a billet style bracket and a Redline unit my custom bracket that sat over the back stud on the right hand side gave the best feel and worked the best IMO.I'd give it to ya but I gave it to Ricky when he bought my carb and stuff.

Not saying it looked better cos it didn't but it worked ALOT better IMO.

Just saying bruz...

I have the crs bracket, 99% the same as the one above and then got this adapter which bolts on.

The factory ford cable will slide straight in with a bit of encouragement

I got one on the XE. I found it best flipped upside down and using the GM linkage on the carby with the cable feeding in from the front. Gives full throw on the carby and doesnt foul on anything.

Im also using a 1" phenolic spacer and a drop base air filter.

And yes i know i have to get the return spring chrome plated!

This bracket i got was $50, no name brand. It looks to be pretty good quality though - no weak parts or anything.

Personally if i was buying another one i would go Aeroflow. Never had any issues with any of their products.

Only downfall is its about double the price.

From an old fellas memory i had to put a small cut in the cable retainer to fit the inner cable through and then the retainer nuts went each side of the bracket and tightened up perfectly. I could adjust the position of the cable easily to get the correct throw on the linkage. Also need to buy a 1/4" throttle ball to bolt on to the carby linkage.

I got mine through summit, you can get any colour you want as long as it's blue, black, red or aluminium.

The actual bracket is cvr or crs and the Ford adaptor is summit. All up including freight to nz was under a $100.

This picture shows the cable in the bracket when it was up the other way.

I found it just knocked the air filter based on WOT.

with my impco 425 i have to use a 3" k&n with a raised base and a 1" air filter spacer so i doubt ill have clearance issues underneath

thanks heaps for the pics

If u get the summit one it comes with a bracket that you just need to run a thin cut off wheel thru to fit.

They are way cheaper than the brand name ones.  I run one on the burnout car with just one return spring (and factory return on the cable) and found it has good feel.

I use the CVR (same shape) and it works with the standard cable

I went from the back though to make it look neater

If possible you want the cable and return spring at opposite points

Pulling and returning from the same point/end can wear out the shaft/carby

Mine was a cvr one as well. I only used one of the return springs cause with both on the pedal feel was way to heavy. One worked nice.
