Clevo head flow results

Recommended Posts

Starting this thread is a little premature but I'm too excited, I will start to flow test some heads in the next couple of days. A bloke come around today and dropped off some 4V closed chamber ex sprintcar cast heads and some manifolds, I will put up some pics when I get some more batteries for the camera but just for now imagine a holley strip dominator plumbed with direct port nitrous and also a tunnel ram with hidden direct port nitrous in the valley, very cool shit.

Well I have some pics of the gear at my place at the moment here for some testing, not that the nitrous has any affect on flow testing but it just gives me wood LOL. I want to keep these heads and tunnel ram for my Datto hahahaha.

Well I got some testing done today, the big girl pulled over 290cfm at 700 lift and 270cfm with the tunnel ram attached.

Heads are untouched castings with 2.187in valve

Tested some holley strip dominator manifolds today, they are shit hot I rekon. the long and short runners flow nearly the same as each other and they flow 280cfm on 290cfm head, that's pretty bloody good. One of the manifolds is a normal 4V runner and the direct port injected manifold has the runner floors filled, the filled floor manifold only flowed 5cfm less over 550 thou of lift, I would sacrifice that flow for the added port runner airspeed the filled floor would produce, plus it has NOS hahahahaha.

HAHAHA just finishing off the rest of the jobs that I had already lined up mate, this bloke is 1 of the guys that I will be looking after his work just for fun, I tried to convince him to buy my tunnel ram by sending this pic of his engine while it was in my workshop, he called me all sorts of names but stuck with the TFC LOL

Any 2V flow results sean?  Cam has my 2v's at the moment.  They just getting a good seat cut and bowl job and some hardened seats for unleaded.

I want to run the iron heads as the XA GS is a bit of a rare thing so I want the original look.  Going to run a hydraulic of around 290/300 adv duration and Lift .536/.562.

Keen to see if that will be enough lift for the flow potential.  Its just a fun drive car so no flat tappet or roller - yet......

Be very interested to see how they turn out with clean up. Looking forward to seeing the numbers on the stock heads aswell.

Be great to see some pics of how you go about cleaning up the 2vs when you get around to them.

Damn my shitters are open chamber - reckon the flow would be similar.

Some not too bad low lift gains but then yuk.  seems as if a bowl and seat job might help plus a slight increase in sectional area just past the short turn.

I'm thinking that hydraulic I picked might be spot on.  Keen to see what improvements you make Sean.  Thanks for the flow figures - great stuff as usual.
