Hi guys, got a slight leak coming out of the head of and early cross flow in my Xf falcon. It’s just coming out of the head and onto the block ever so slightly. Just curious to know if anyone has ever re-torqued a head with a similar issue or if anyone has re-torqued a head and has had any success in general. Have a work shop manual somewhere but can’t seem to find it, just wanted to also know what the torque specs are for the head can’t really find a definitive answer after a lot of googling. Happened to me once while cruising on a cool day. shut off came back to me 5 minutes after it shut off. Last time just shut off randomly while idling for a little while. Happened to me once after leaving my driveway around the corner from my house. Not too positive it’s heat related but might just change it anyways. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi all. Having some issues with my 1992 xf Ute. It’s running and EST dizzy system (no module on the side of dizzy, and map sensor on the fire wall). It will just stop running out of no where. Happened to me twice while driving both st random stages, but now seems to be happening more frequently. It doesn’t idle rough and still pulls strong through its rev range. Like I said it just turns off randomly, both while driving and idling. Any one able to shed some light onto what my issues might be. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I literally left them on the car when I took the borg Warner out for the nine inch so save way round.

Did a bit more mucking around under the car. I’ve got the car sitting pretty low, hence my issue with it hitting the fuel tank strap mount. Just moved the tank strap mount point back to help with clearance. I’ve got another set of wattslink arms that I’m gona angle the ends on so they sit straight. See where I’m at once that’s done. Hi All. I’m putting a 9inch into my xe falcon and have a couple of questions about fitment. Got the diff all together and have decided to throw it under the car tonight. After throwing it in I’ve noticed that my watts link arms come bent after the watts link is fully seated onto the diff. I’ve also noticed that if I jack the diff up into the car the watts link eventually hits the tank strap mounting point which ends up in the middle of the car. Just curious to know for those who have done this conversion, how they got around these issues. Thanks a lot for time fellas

Latest update on this issue in my xe. put a dizzy which had Minimal play into today. Car runs 100% better and like a clock again. Comparing This dizzy to the one that was in it worlds of difference. Original dizzy had a lot of play in it which was probably majority of my problem. thanks for everyone’s help. Hope this helps anyone in the future.

Thanks buddy. I’m gona change the dizzy as I believe I’ve narrowed down the Problem to that. Will keep everyone updated to what’s happening with this issue. As I know i found next to nothing regarding this problem.

Nah fuel filter is brand new. Checked tdc by taking number one spark plug out and putting a screw driver down it. Tdc matched what the screw driver was doing. The motor ran fine and didn’t carry on when I did get it going for the minute it did run. however. after a bit of kicking around a mechanic friend of mine got the car going. He pulled apart the dizzy and gave it a once over. The cars done 500+ thousand ks so it looked fairly ugly in there. The cars running however the dizzy is temperamental and will run normal then run terrible, as the car ran and drove fine then out of no where just starts to break up like it’s running out of spark. I’m getting my hands on another distributor soon and will see if that improves my situation.

I’ve got plenty of fuel Down the carbie. Even thrown heaps of start ya barastard down the carbie as the cars cranking. The solenoid does sound like it’s working as I take that wire on and off. also no fuel leaks I’ve checked for that to

I’ve tried a known working coil but still no good. I’ll try a new one and give that ago. The spark off the coil currently on there looked good. Even spark at the plug looked strong.

Yes buddy it’s me who bought the pullys off you. Nothing wrong with the rotor cap I’ve checked that. I’ve put directrix grease under the module as well. ive pulled the plugs out and they seem dry for the amount of fuel they should be getting.
