    I to am doing a motor upgrade to the XG in the near future but im going the Au engine and turbo kit with cam, springs and J3 chip. No real mods to do to fit it all up and not that expensive.
    Im sure the barra could go in but would need loom work and other mods.

    I recon i could make one similar to that.
     
    That one, unfortunately, is local pick up only in NSW.

    That's an aftermarket divorced dump pipe- the turbine and wastegate gasses are completely divided and have their own pipes. The factory dump pipe is cast iron. That one there would be worth a look because even if it didn't quite fit, a bit of cutting, grinding and welding would sort it out.

    Can you put up a pic of the back of the turbine housing? If you have a straight copy of the Garrett XR6T gt3582r, the turbine housing should have the wastegate flap incorporated into the housing. Ideally you don't want the wastegate gasses going into a flat plate and squeezing out. You would want an open flange that has a section of pipe allowing the wastegate gasses to merge with the turbine gasses more smoothly or a divorced dump pipe. Like this :

    With only one muffler it would be okay , bigger is better .

    For a 4 litre turbo 3" would be bare minimum. 3.5 - 4" even better

    Im making my own log manifold. All up should be less than $150 ceramic coat I ng will be the biggest expense.

    Better yet is not having a fuel gauge as well. Just fill it up each trip. Pretend its not taking that much. Happy.

    Ive been toying around with the idea of chucking a snail on the ute cause basically its slow as fuck and well it would be a lot more fun to drive.
     
    Ive sourced an EL computer to suit the engine as it allows for better tuning with a J3 chip.
     
    Im also in the process of getting an AU engine cause ive read the bottom ends are better and it means i can build up the engine while keeping the ute on the road,
     
    Now im not interested in a high budget build but i am not likely to do it on the cheap either. Only thing is i have no idea what way to go with a parts list so i asked my learned colleagues to add some advice here to point me in the right direction.
     
    I do know there will be some braided line, shiny allloy intercooler piping and the odd aeroflow fitting but other than that who knows - all a learning curve.

    I think the phrase 351 cleveland and economy don't compute comes to mind.

    Sounds nasty!
    I drill a hole through both parts of the regulator and stick a bolt through them before taking the motor off. Stops the spring from moving then.
    Manual says to do it this way as well.
