xeeclipse got a reaction from Fingers in Thom's 4.0l thread
As long as you don't wreck them in the process......My pet hate is seeing all these grouches at pick a part wreck perfectly good componentry. Some c$%k sucker pulled a T5 out the other day just to take the input shaft!

xeeclipse got a reaction from mcfly94 in Wondering What Weight/Brand oil to go on a just-ran-in Clevo?
PENRITE HPR 15-60 FULL SYNTHETIC....Caters for a wide range of engines whether multi valve or pushrod and good in both high and low km engines.
How old were the pushrods you were using? You should use heavy duty ones just incase you momentarily have a loss of spark.

Just piss the EGR off.... the constuble would have to be a real c$%t to pin you for not having one.

When i was an apprentice and had no idea about cars I had a very mild 351c, single rail, 2.92's in a ZB fairlane....Ran a 15.0 flat with poorly adjusted lifter preloads and rings that I forgot to gap, god that thing was tuned poorly .
If you get better then a 15.5 you deserve a medal Gerg

xeeclipse got a reaction from Jonathan Mark Davidson in would you recommend a crate motor?
A good solid cleveland/windsor stroker in parts costs spot on $10,000 (including dizzy, carb flywheel). This is for an externally balanced cast crank job.

Stroker's aren't meant to rev :/, Sly nows all about tractor motors and RPM. I'm fascinated in knowing what my bucket of bolts will one day be capable of doing. I want to show the high stalled fraternity a thing or two on the track and strip with a good old stick shift

Ive never had issues with crow cams. Had a few engines run like dogs on break in and cams have always held up well.
Diesel oils are usually full synthetic these days, I wonder whats the zinc content like??
I run half a tube of molybdenum paste with some 15/40 GTX3 in all my engines on initial break in.

your xb sounds good......i don't have any experience with strokers but most of the 600+ hp builds that I've read about seem to have stalled autos or very short gears for drivability. I'd be putting a supercharger on it instead of overcamming to make power, but thats just me thou
