I can’t see how the roller 351 push rods are the same length as the 302 roller???

Agree. No easier engine to learn on. It's not that hard and if you take shots on your phone you'll have a colour workshop manual to reference from.

If it has wiped a lobe (which is pretty common) you can bet the oil pump will be junk. The oil pump cops any metal dropped through the engine first. Yeah the filter will catch it after the pump has done its job, but you can bet the inside of the pump will look like a concrete mixer.

Full gaskets sets are silly cheap. Borrow or buy an engine crane and have a crack. There are some good people on here who will help you through if you get stuck.

A mate of mine built a up a 351c a few years ago and it was a slap together, just new rings n bearings... the bores were already at 30 thou so just a quick hone, the machine shop said the bored were out of round but should seal ok, just don’t expect to get 50000km out it it.
Motor went well in all respects.

Boss motor would be cool, but with all the good alloy heads out there it wouldn’t be worth it really, not on those cubes in my opinion. Kaase P38 Windsors heads...search them.

yeah i saw that on you tube where they chuked em on a junkyard 302w and it made massive hp,ol m8 at the machine shop found a ring set that should suit, belive it or not its for a repco/holden formula five thousand engine,we also found out that this piston has 2 different ring sets for the same piston ? never thought it would be this hard to find correct rings.

Mine hasn't been run yet and TBH alot of it done thru ideas alot don't agree with but it hasn't affected me before just offended some.
I did the pipe work yes. And its out of exhaust pipe which most say should be ally but that would mean more joiners and or welding which Im not set up to do at home yet. I can weld ally with my mig but I only have thick wire which isn'tgood for thin pipe.

Sizing is based on na engine out put and target hp. So as my car showed a true weight shifted 450ish hp I had 3 blowers in my range and I found 1 cheap 2nd hand at the same time.

Camshaft depends on target and use again and as I want to make around the 550-600 mark (add 150hp safely to your na mark boosted) to run good et's. So im using 658 lift and 264@50duration on unspecified lobe sep with a solid roller by Marshall Custom Cams.

Comp is 11.2 and fired by a MS3 ecu coil on plug via LS coils and burning E85.

Mine is stock with ally head and you can run more comp on ally head deal over iron without detonation issues. You build a ProCharged engine like a NA deal really but if you want it to go you have to rev em and fit pulleys to suit with a solid tune.

So ill be aiming for around 15psi but as I have a very well ported cyl head that shows less boost under pressure but makes better hp and is more efficient It will prob be a lower number?

They could've been seized together, with carbon.
To my knowledge, they are all supposed to come apart...

Hey, what are these rear wheels off? The off set looks wrong as they sit to far inward, plus needs more tyre in my opinion.

No one here wants to see you waste money and end up annoyed with your end result. I’d be writing down your wants vs needs for the car, if I was 20 again I’d laugh at myself for saying that, but over the last 12 years of playing with my XD, I’ve changed direction so many times with things because I never really had an end goal with the finances I had.

For performance and wanting to chop your mates, like what has been said above a standard auto 302c XD is going to get smoked easy by the average new car, I’m not taking the piss but I’d bet my left nut a Ford 1.0 ecoboost would own it. A stock good running XD 302c took about 9 or so seconds to get to 100kmh, a camshaft and a tune isn’t going to get it down to 6 seconds...

If it was my car, I would pick a direction of either tidying the body up and putting some wheels on it and making it look mint OR spend money to make it sound and perform better. If you have a bit of this and a bit of that you may regret what you end up with.

Maybe just do a complete service on it, plugs, leads, oils and filters and then use the car for a bit, get use to it and then see what you’d like to do.

    Much love for a windsor.

Not to hard to get 450-500hp from the 351w with heads and a cam.
