Grimmy got a reaction from PRO250 in New motor advice
I used a cam tech 528 on an otherwise un-opened engine with stock intake and carb , went quite well . Timing was 12-14 degrees . 20in of vacume seems high??
Ditch the std dizzy and get an est or tfi(with the modual removed) and that will lock the timing up , set it to around 28* to start with . You don't have to go all out on an intake manifold , anything 4barrel will do . But you will need an adaptor to fit the quadrajet .

Grimmy got a reaction from Thom in 4.0L dizzy drive
I'm not 100% sure on what's damaged , but it did cross my mind about what could have caused it .
I've never pulled a 4l apart so it'll be a good learning curve

Grimmy got a reaction from Outback Jack in Acceptable Orange peel
He said something about ford only supplying 2nd grade ppg paint . He also said they don't use ppg any more , can't remember why tho . Apparently the paint they use blows on like glass , sounds promising

Grimmy got a reaction from slydog in What wheels ?
They are definitely light as a fether can pick up the rears with a 265 tyre no worries
Perfect offset for a falcon too , awesome set of wheels

Grimmy reacted to n00bus m@x1mus in au diff into xf
Apparently it in the front lower bush and the ball joint pin is on a different angle so the new spindles dont fit the arms and thr arms cant be swapped without the k frame aswell.
And sorry poor choice of words before.. au series I rotors are same diametre as ef/el and cant be upgraded for larger discs because of the spindle design.

Grimmy reacted to deankxf in LPG and cold starts
they've set that up as a primer
i would assume it only kicks in when its powered up(some have set these to supply extra gas on start up so check where the wires go on that solenoid you have circled

Grimmy reacted to Grimmy in P/s conversion
I'm trying to convert from power to NONpower steering and I'm wondering if the steering colum has to be changed aswell ? P/s colum looks 2" shorter
Anyone changed it before ?
