Not much progress yet. 
I just took delivery of my new tools, so i can start making some good progress on the car. 
 
I got the rear lights all fitted up. 
 
Next step is rip out all the rear suspension and rebuild that. once the diff is back in the car, then I can start on the front of the car. 
 

Barras are easy to swap and quite easy to run on the factory ECUs if you went that way.

AU VCT was very primitive I think, most 4.0 swaps don't usually worry about the VCT.

Barra, triple 45mm dcoe Weber's (recarb Qld) order on eBay. Then no EFI.
Can put it on all the Crossy, 4L sohc, Barra.
Trust me....save yourself the EFI nightmare and make the car fun.

Cool.  Any pics of the install.?? Looking at getting one of these for the future project..... 

oo\li have lived on the gold coast for 20 years and lived at many waterfront places as there is millions of them and they all connect to the ocean and tidal in some way or the water goes stagnent,i think not until you get to robina there is spillways ect ,and very brakish water that can overflow if flood.

All the homes are salt that leads further up tallebudgerra crk it's a lot better now but still can't drive but the worse has happened as I have run out of tabbacco and Gunnar do a water world on the kayak to 7/11

yes thats where i live ,on the lake,my street borders with angelica and belive it or not chestnut st,you can google its true,the news camera was out the front wading thru the deluge,but the road is almost dry now thanks to my 400 rigged up to a big pump,ses want to no more about these 400s.

Seems to have gone down about 1/2 meter,I was thinking that the captain goes down with the ship

we are under water almost,this is the worst i have ever seen it ,im not worried about the house lets save the 400

Put lifters pushrods balancer manifold nice edelbrock signature series covers and new rockers and oil droppers and correct 400 dip stick looks good and tough

Painted dip stix and 10 headbolts as they sit on the outer and look good matched painted ,only time I don't paint em is when new arp are fitted

Now that's sorted, set at 10btdc on the XF gear and 0 degrees for the EL set up, that's what the ecu is set to think the base timing is at.

I know. My dad and I had the same discussion on the phone about how 1 sensor would immobilise the car. 
knowing that, I will be keeping a jump wire in the car so jump the plug again if there is a failure again. 
 
I am going to try the EL ECU again, but first sign of it playing up, I will revert back. 
 
I did have a thought that maybe my ignition timing is out, causing the lack of power. Perhaps not advancing enough 

Well the car is running again. 
 
ECT sensor replaced, and first flick of the key it started. 
 
drives really well again in completely stock form, however i now have it losing power with wide open throttle. 
 
im guessing the AFM is adjusted incorrectly. Yes in the process of trying to get it to run, i tried adjusting AFR screw in the top of the vane meter. I just dont know which way it is out. 

.........thanks for reminding me.....  really should put mine on, bought it 2 years ago. 🤔 My shed isn't on a hill, so didn't bother.
