I found a nice deal from USA e bay comp cam lifters and chain for $280us the cam is 494/494 on 110 and 218@50 just remember I'm using new steel rockers not roller rockers ,that Elgin cam I used in the other 400 is out of stock 505lift ect it's really popular and the factory hasn't made any more since covid stopped a lot of businesses production. I know I go on about this block that's cause it's rare as ,let's start with typical big block bell pattern,1971 cast D1AE with no abbreviations after it is high nickel,STD bore with typical cleveland style pan rails ,3 inch mains and large 2 bolt caps, has light surface rust in bores but will clean up fine at 020 or 030 ,see the sought of pillows cast into it ,this is where maybe the Geelong foundry got the idea for the XE pillow block castings.i have also had it milled to suit a svo 351w 1 piece rear main seal Sent from my SM-A125F using Tapatalk

Yes I went thru that with the first 400 that went in the Ute 26 deg it liked Max and 240 hp at the wheels my crossy had 214 on a mild tune ,only thing I can do is go opens and use the forged flat tops with zero deck but they are $1000 landed Sent from my SM-A125F using Tapatalk

I pulled out my last 400 block and it's the high nickel D1AE block STD bore I'm having trouble finding 020 pistons as STD 30 40 and 60 are the most common I just wanted to keep as much meat on the bores as possible but since covid a lot of industry has closed or slowed right down in production. 240 300 CANADIAN 6 CYLINDER

It has 70000miles on it original he says ,being a 7 ton f truck I would say it's a 300 and not a 240 God knows what I'm Gunnar do with it, but I do no a rebuild kit is very very cheap so will be interesting when I strip it down ,being low miles might not even need a re bore Sent from my SM-A125F using Tapatalk

The new oil thing fits nice and this is what olm8 at the machine shop was getting a bone from see how you can't even get a steel ruler between the bores it's like the first are fused together and they are all the same ,might be a bit hard to see though with only mild corosion on a 50 year old block Sent from my SM-A125F using Tapatalk
