gerg 10,871 Posted December 29, 2015 That's the pump shaft, the pulley presses onto it. You need a power steer pump puller to get it all apart. Some shops might do it for 20 bucks. The hex is there I presume as part of the machining process of the shaft. 1 Outback Jack reacted to this

scottly 475 Posted December 29, 2015 Make sure your pulley is straight and the pressure of the clamps didn't bend it, my Xd ute had a slightly warped pulley and it use to throw the belt off over 4000rpm 1 Outback Jack reacted to this
CHESTNUTXE 7,364 Posted December 29, 2015 only wimpy clamps ,i will leave it up to the pro's,i cant get it off,i just spoke to another member he has the tool ! 1 Outback Jack reacted to this
gerg 10,871 Posted December 29, 2015 Yeah it's a specific tool for Saginaw pumps, has a pair of collars that go around the groove on the snout. Using a jaw puller either on the groove or around the pulley will fuck it really good. 1 Outback Jack reacted to this

SPArKy_Dave 8,923 Posted April 12, 2016 Lol, wait till you have a VS commodore 304 V8 pulley - they don't have the collar to grab onto.

SPArKy_Dave 8,923 Posted April 12, 2016 There's a thread in the center hex shaped hole. That's what's used to pull/press the pulley off and on. 1 Outback Jack reacted to this
