FORD_MAN 1,026 Posted June 21, 2015 It's a Open diff. LSD is a sealed hemisphere 1 XTREME KARTS XF reacted to this
RAWDEAL 222 Posted June 21, 2015 It's a Open diff. LSD is a sealed hemisphere Are you sure, you have opened one of these up yourself? I have some more photos from Chaise 'ILIED' , of his LSD center, it looks like the one above
Thom 6,655 Posted June 21, 2015 If the Axle spins the opposite way it's an open center, if it spins the same way it's an lsd 5 tpak addict, dougie77, Outback Jack and 2 others reacted to this
tpak addict 1,909 Posted June 21, 2015 Thom is on the money, quickest and easiest way to check..... Not all XR diff's are LSD. It was an option same as all models even the egas..... 1 Thom reacted to this
gerg 10,871 Posted June 22, 2015 On the older borgie lsd they had 2 rings of bolts on the hemisphere: inner ring for the two halves and the outer for the crownwheel. Open centres use the crown wheel bolts to hold the halves together 1 Thom reacted to this
Mr Polson 10,214 Posted June 22, 2015 I thought all XR6Ts got LSD? And I wouldn't trust the "spin same way its LSD". My G6E spins both the same way but it's open, if you hold one wheel the other will still spin. My ute has a (stuffed) LSD, both wheels spin the same way but it no longer puts power to the wheel that has more resistance.
tpak addict 1,909 Posted June 22, 2015 If anyone would know its Phantom... When it comes to ford stuff he knows, may pay you to send him a PM if you want to know for sure.....
Gaz 1,085 Posted June 22, 2015 Don't ever rely on the "spins same way/spins opposite way" theory. Some LSD's only work under the right circumstances i.e. traction/power. 1 XTREME KARTS XF reacted to this
RAWDEAL 222 Posted June 22, 2015 Interesting info http://www.fordmods.com/gearbox-suspension-brake-driveline-f4/ba-m86-same-as-fg-m86-no-t113675.html 1 gerg reacted to this
gerg 10,871 Posted June 22, 2015 Yes very interesting..... FG diffs are 1550 mm flange to flange and BAs are 1500. Means you could cure that age-old Falcon trait of the rear wheels sitting in too far by fitting an FG diff and not have to run wideys on the back.

Or do the opposite in a FG with a ba diff , which is what id do with a fg ute lol 1 gerg reacted to this
