Thom 6,654 Posted June 6, 2013 That's always been one thing I tried to convince people is that sometimes slicks can slow.you down

gerg 10,871 Posted June 6, 2013 I'm posting this to my brother. He's building a boosted 200 Crossy in an XP ute, and needs inspiration.
Mixalis 266 Posted June 7, 2013 Yeh pretty interesting what happened when he swapped over to less gripier and smaller tyres. Both runs with the slicks it looked like it bogged slightly off the line. But with the streets it even got one wheel off the ground.
JETFTR 508 Posted June 7, 2013 nice work for an old crossy thats for sure. i dont think that the etstreets are any less grippy. With the sidewall having less give than a slick it would be harder to get the tyre to 'hook' initially, but work well once grip is found. Heaps of people starting to go quick on them in aus (a few forum members included) and the yanks have been trying to tame 2000+hp through 275mm and smaller radials for ages.
