My XF wagon is 87 and doesn't have it.
 
But anyway. I FIXED MINE!! Ever since I've got it, the driver brake light has been dimmer than the other side. It blew today. So I replaced it, and thought while I'm at it I'll replace the other side.
 
Ta-da! No more warning light. So maybe try replacing all the globes?

if its behind the kick panel o the driver side ,it IS rusted WERE THE RIGHT HAND inner guard meets the plenuim, you need to pull the guard off to weld it up

Thanks for the replies fellas. My coolant is good flushed it and filled it last week(after this problem started) i am unsure what the system is il go have a look. I had it tuned properly recently and for a month it was fine.
 
I think it might be wax build up.
 
Nova i didnt realise (or forgot) your panno was on Gas. Imagine how good it would be at Vic prices. Or at the price Australia sells it to china at!!!

60 something L or optional 80/90L long range tank?
 
Brads Ghia has the long range one, but I don't think he's fully filled it... he stopped once it took $120 worth.

Yeah surely someone could recondition them? There is a guy at work who fixes all the monitors, B P machines, pumps and other equipment in the hospital. I think il ask if it would be hard to source the stuff.
 
Mine after 12 reliable months lost 2 hours the other day. Very sad day.

this is very interesting. I was never sold on doing a windsor conversion this seems like something a bit more fun with alot of potential.
My only isssue would be wiring i cant stand it.

I can't remember if I put up any pics of my install in my ute thread...
 
Mine is damn simple (ran in through a manual switch).
 
Earth the negative wires from thermos to vehicle close to radiator.
Join poisitve wires and run them to the relay being used.
Wire from relay to 12v positive on battery.
Wire from relay to switch that turns fans on and off.
 
Despite many suggestions, I went manual switch, to prevent them.coming on if not needed or wanted. Plus one less thing to break. I reckon I've turned them on four times maybe? Including when I was hauling a trailer the other week. Majority of cooling is done via airflow not fans,.unless.idling or in slow traffic.

Actually i would like a dipstick its my only real complaint about the AU.

I thought i'd open a new thread to ask this as there isn't much here in the 6 cyl section yet.
 
If I wanted to put a 4.0 Litre into my FE, which model would be the preferred? Maybe even the top three in case number one is hard to find or out of budget, etc.
 
In my case i would like to use the 4spd auto as well. Not sure if i will ever go turbo but if so, does this affect which model i should go for?

Heat gun too mate. Just dont over heat it. Will stop the paint cracking.

I done a real backyard job... Used a baseball bat, had a mate hold it as I edged forwards... Worked fine. Cracked the paint right on the edges, but needs repainting anyway.

Mcfly i find the twin horns on my ZL more the adequate. Around here people drive infront of me at round abouts all day. They never miss the reminder that ZLane is going to make a mess of your mazda 2 when i blast them. I just hate the horn botton on the light stalk.
