Tool to remove power steering pulley
Supersnake replied to Supersnake's topic in Steering, Suspension and Brakes
Thanks for that mate, for the price I might give it a go, not many people seem to be in the know about this conversion even though everyone seems to have it lol I'll have a ring around for the adapter, the one I've had in the past was a brass block. Are they the ones you know of? If anyone has one laying around I'm happy to buy it of you. -

Hey guys, does anyone know if this kit from ebay will remove the pulley from a saginaw pump with a press on pulley? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/12Pcs-Power-Steering-Alternator-Pulley-Puller-Installer-Kits-/221351954667?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item33899ac8eb&_uhb=1 Also, does anyone know where I can get an adapter for the XD high pressure line to mate up to the later saginaw pump?

Thanks for all your help guys, I've decided to get the springs checked and if needed replace them to match a hydraulic roller cam. Was leaning towards something from comp cams as I hear a lot of people are using them on here. But that's all going on the backburner for the moment, I'll turn my attention to getting some new wheels for the fairlane. Cheers guys

Solid cam, hmmmmmm. Any idea how often I'll have to be adjusting lash? It's just a weekend car. I might replace the stem seals on the heads for now and build up what I need and do it in one hit.

The heads definitely have a fair bit of work done, I plan on quite a few mods in the not too distant future, so instead of spending money to get the heads reconditioned, and then getting more work in the future decided to go for these. I'll take a spring out and measure it up, see what I can find.

G'day guys, I picked up some heads for my cleveland at a good price to replace my original old heads. Turns out they have had a bit of work done to them including triple valve springs. Now they are a bit extreme for what I'm wanting right now, and I figure they may have too much pressure for my standard lifters, cam and timing chain that in the engine now. Question is can I simply replace the triple springs with singles? Or is it likely that the heads have been machine to accept these springs and singles will no longer fit? Any help would be appreciated, Cheers

Mate that sucks, got me worried about doing it now. Anyone have any ideas of what's happening? Would be great if you didn't have to yank the motor out.

Stripping paint from aluminium intake manifold
Supersnake replied to Supersnake's topic in Cleveland
Off to the blasters it is, I'll post some before and afters. -
Would running the PCV line through a catch can help stop this? Just a thought.

G'day guys, just bought a second hand Edelbrock air gap manifold. It's been painted black with engine enamel but I'd really rather the raw aluminium finish. Would paint stripper be ok on the aluminium? Or should I get it bead blasted? Cheers for your help, Matt

G'day guys, I picked up an LTD cluster to go in my ZJ, but after fitting it the tacho doesn't work at all. Does anyone know if it should work? I've put a tacho cluster in place of a basic cluster before on falcons and the tacho worked. Does anyone know if the LTD wiring loom is different and doesn't cater for a tacho? Cheers

G'day mate, check out this ebay auction, it's ended but gives you a good look at a reproduced one. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FORD-FALCON-XE-RPO36-Highway-Patrol-Car-Air-Deflector-Kit-Repro-V82DA-FOO1B10AA-/271262664816?nma=true&si=esfo292LQT9m1DhHio7pIvyWGuM%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

I've always made sure to put the big factory air cleaner on before getting roadworthys, I figure it just makes it a bit harder to spot what carb you're running and hide the lack of EGR parts.

What would your thoughts on a Comp thumpr cam in a 302c be?
