Nice build this.  Lotsa work restoring an old, rusty engine. All the machined surfaced look like they need a skim. Thermostat housing, gasket faces, crank snout etc, etc.
Still, it's a big block, so why not.!!  I'd try and save money to afford alloy heads and inlet manifold. Very expensive but lose 20 kilos over the front end.?

You wouldn't think it's the same block after I spent all day on it ,turns out it is STD bore with plenty of ware 4.374 is the largest bore so she has done a lot of miles

Yeah, was on  my bucket list of engines. Always wanted a 427/429 or 460. But things happen, cars get sold, etc etc.  No point buying one now, would make the XP sooooooo front heavy. LMAO.  Ally intake and heads on 460 would make them about the same weight as a Clevo I reckon. So, perfect for the Nugget.. 🤔

Exhaust side is choked with a hump but inlet side is massive, same as manifold,I also wire brushed the mains on both cranks just to get a idea on size and the both measure up at around 3.000 which is the STD size I haven't checked the big ends yet but guessing it's STD.

Yeah I dunno, if you grind that hump out, it actually looks decent. The inlets might look big, but the shape doesn't look great (that's what she said). I reckon the inlets are the restriction here. It looks typically Ford of that era, with a ramp up on the floor and a sharp turn before the throat. Pretty much just 2V Clevos but slightly scaled up.

I have heard that wherever a Windsor or Clevo will go, a 429/460 will slot in, mounts and all. Whether or not the actual mounts are the same, I dunno, but from XA onwards, big blocks are a bolt-in job (again from what I remember someone saying years ago)

Hard to believe that there's so much interest in Clevo's in the good ole US of A, that Tim Meyer and such will go to the lengths of making new ones...!!!!
At the same time, deleting some of the inherent issues from the 1960-70's model.  Bravo fellas.  If I was in the 'States, I know what I'd be saving for right now.
