the one on mine is a air gap. the bolts that i had from the old manifold would need to go in about 1 more inch. so got new bolts

i got a 60grit disc for my grinder made life alot easier when doing these repairs, just grind back until its all shiny again then use filler, try to use as less as possible and get it smooth to save time sanding.

you have to hand sand when dry and i found spraying some wax and grease remover on the filler after sanding will show up anything you have missed

on this pic you can on the right hand side i did not smooth enough from filler to the original paint so therefor i ended up with a pain run.

was looking at aeroflow but my budget does not allow for the word aeroflow.

the guy said he can make me up a pipe even if i get a heap of hard lines and he will weld them all together and then fit a pressure hose.

so iv got a heap of 6cyl lines and have cut them up to give me the right bends etc etc.

will messure it all and take it to him to weld and fit a pressure line then i should be ok, maybe, one day.

should i bought the complete system i saw on gumtree for $80 when i saw it instead of uming and areing about it

the car was not fitted with a v8 to start with. i just hate extra shit that i dont need.

iv just always thought colder air = better density = better combustion so never seen the point ramming hot air down the guts of your engine, weather cruising or thrashing it.

all good found it, was playing with the wrong relay, not even sure what the one i was playing with does as it just pluged into itself down the loom.

plugged the signal wire that was on the relay onto the 351 remote solenoid and she cranked over. so thats pretty much all the electrics done. ill do the exhaust and fuel lines tomorrow then hopfully she will fire up

i would love to just fix up the 82 as it is all matching 351/FMX numbers, but the floor pan is gone the underside of the car is full of rust, if you jack it up you cant close the doors due to it twisting. the interior is a mess, everypanel needs replacing, would love to  have a matching 351 but i have no want to sell it so im not bothered about resell value.

already spoken to regency they said just to provide the engine number and the rego will go up a few bux, as its still a FD i can do it, if it was a FE then could not

ill be pulling the 83 down to a bare engine bay as want to give it a paint first before the 351 goes in.
