Campo 869 Posted May 21, 2014 Hi all, I remember a while ago finding a kit to do the door hinges on ebay, my xf has typical dropped hinges. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Cant seem to find it now Cheers
smiddo 14 Posted May 21, 2014 Yeah I've been looking too, can only find early x series but no kits with pins n bushes for xd - xf, Rare spares has em online at $25 a door http://www.rarespares.net.au/mobile/product/?product=DHRKFA
Jonathan Mark Davidson 169 Posted May 21, 2014 xg kit's are what most use
BigCav 464 Posted May 21, 2014 they are currently unavailable from anywhere, Rare Spares are the only company that make them and there has been an issue with supply at the moment, they will be available again shortly by all means check with your local branches as maybe someone has left over stock but the actual warehouse etc is all sold out
Campo 869 Posted May 22, 2014 Any idea how long til they be avaliable again Cav? I'll try ring around and find some stock i guess.
wagoon 2,429 Posted May 22, 2014 I was checking ebay and there is a someone selling just the bushes. Is it possible to knock the pin out without damaging it, install new bushes and reintall old pins? Do the pins wear or is it just rust that wears the pins? I ask cause I have been looking for refurb kits cause my car got knocked back for rego because of one of the hinges(among other things)
BigCav 464 Posted May 22, 2014 Any idea how long til they be avaliable again Cav? I'll try ring around and find some stock i guess. probably still a few months mate, but they are being rushed threw as fast as they can, the tooling was "missplaced" by a manufacturer wagoon: if its a front door im pretty sure brand new hinges are still available from ford for reasonable money 1 Outback Jack reacted to this
Campo 869 Posted May 22, 2014 Cool thanks mate. Have to put up with it for another couple of months then, all good

wagoon 2,429 Posted May 22, 2014 I rang 3 ford dealers around brisbane and they all said that hinges, bushes and pins are no longer available for even the XG. Does XH hinges fit the front?
Jonathan Mark Davidson 169 Posted May 23, 2014 xh hinge bolts exact same as the other x series so i couldn't see an issue their i can get pics if you need (i have a xh dooor sitting hear atm) 1 Outback Jack reacted to this
wagoon 2,429 Posted May 23, 2014 Rang ford spare parts again and all XH stuff is not availbale but there are some bushes in the warehouse in brisbane but no pins and no complete hinges.
BigCav 464 Posted May 23, 2014 thats a shame, they still had em 6 months ago, just jumped on the ford system and they are now gone, sorry mate
wagoon 2,429 Posted May 23, 2014 No drama at all Cav. Might have a crack at getting the bushes and tack welding the old pins in place if I can save them
Lord_fahrquhar 2,580 Posted May 25, 2014 Could always spiny the shaft up in a lathe, centre bore it and put a grease nipple on top. The machine up some bushes in brass. 1 XTREME KARTS XF reacted to this
bear351c 10,271 Posted January 29, 2015 Anyone bought a kit? Just bought a ZL, with DDDS (dropped drivers door syndrome) Would like to keep the original handle before it breaks.
wagoon 2,429 Posted January 29, 2015 I bought a pair off ebay that were unused because no one had them when I was looking, althought they were the newer reusable pins with the c clips.
bear351c 10,271 Posted January 29, 2015 Have you fitted them, wagoon? Never done one, back when i had my XD, I just went to Ford and bought new hinges. I'm guessing you just drill the holes out and press in the new bush..?
wagoon 2,429 Posted January 29, 2015 Yeah mate had to fit them to get my wagon registered. I just followed the guide and it was a peice of piss. The hardest part was getting the door realigned. From memory I lubed the bushes push them in and then gently tapped them home with a hammer. I actually have to do them for my sedan to get registered but I grabbed the hinges off an xh ute I pulled apart so will just get new bushes. 1 bear351c reacted to this
