    Brake help please

Yeah thanks gents know all that, just wasn't working! See my build thread, I was simply just trying to get the brakes working in order to move the car but have now taken a step backwards (for the better) and replacing wheel cyls, pads/shoes new drums cos they were oversize when measured today and caliper kits. The pistons were stuck and not moving at all, anyway it'll be mon next week now before I'll get the time to replace everything, toyed with the idea today of replacing the pbr cast iron calipers with xf girlock a but did manage to get the pistons out and waiting for the kits to arrive.

    Brake help please

Yeah initially tried the order but had nuthin, took the master cyl off to make sure I hadn't left the pushrod out - all good - then used the phone video to make sure the booster was moving the rod - all good, bled the mcyl by using a socket ext till I got fluid outta the ports, bolted back up but still no fluid outta the rears, cracked the fronts for the hell of it and got fluid and a bit of a pedal but bad light and dinner beat me, will persevere with the bleeding tommorrow and hope for the best, cheers and thanks
  5. Any brake gurus out there? When I bought my car it had no brakes at all, pedal would go straight to the floor, rang around nearby brake specialist described the symptoms and was told definitely a dodgy master cyl. There was a bit fluid inside the booster so thought the rear seal must've shit itself so forked out for a new master. Bolted everything up and just tried to bleed and can't get any pedal at all and no fluid moving outta the bleed nipples, maybe the diaphragms are farked in the booster, any ideas or advice?? Should I at least have some sort of resistance/pedal feel straight away.

    XD plenum chamber clean/protect

I did mine a few weeks ago, vacuum, wire brush, rust kill, then I ended up giving it a coat colour as it looked heaps better than the black, more pics in my thread

  9. Interesting reading: whilst I class myself as semi competent when it comes to wielding the tools considering it's been twenty years since I last played with cars the experience level is low so can one of the more experienced members please post the correct or best way to check for wear on x series ball joints and other steering components. Oh and I like the look of those red boots!
