Mr Polson 10,214 Posted January 17, 2014 Rego, haha, could be difficult depending on who you can get to engineer it up in northern Tas. Pretty sure you use XD-XE Clevo mounts to bolt engine in, apart from that its all pretty easy I think.
XFGHIA747 76 Posted January 18, 2014 well if there is no other hickups ill be wraped how does the swaybar go as clearence 6 and 8 are the same??
Mr Polson 10,214 Posted January 18, 2014 Think you need a different one, maybe. V8 ones don't clear a 6 but don't know about the other way around.
NZXD 2,328 Posted January 18, 2014 The sway bar will be fine. 2 XTREME KARTS XF and XFGHIA747 reacted to this
HIKFRD 11 Posted January 18, 2014 Use the chassis mounts from the XD (bolt straight in) not sure on gearbox mount 2 XFGHIA747 and XTREME KARTS XF reacted to this
Jonathan Mark Davidson 169 Posted January 19, 2014 gear box mout form a xe may or may not fit (hit and miss if a xf got the second mounting holes if not you will need a xf t5 member and good luck regoing on petrol in a xf especially a sedan
bear351c 10,270 Posted January 19, 2014 Slotted holes are mans best friend.
blu xe 825 Posted January 21, 2014 Should all change from one straight into the other. Mate swapped everything out of an xb into an xf many years ago and it was all change over no issues. Heater hoses on the firewall will need relocating and maybe a little firewall massage where the head may need a bit more room on the passenger side. As said getting it through rego with petrol may be a problem. So simple its a shame ford didn't have the sack to persevere with a v8 xf in the first place. XFGHIA747 76 Posted January 24, 2014 yeah agree with the rego thats the biggest prob for all of us, putting in my moderfication application now with everything from the xd standard so hopefully approved.
BGBLOK 7 Posted March 10, 2014 Mine took 4.5 hours with 2 of us, reversed the rear crossmember, same tailshaft and everything, even the radiator, as long as its a C4 that is.. then off to the exhaust guy..I used XC block hugger tuned length Genies on it. Menice 331 Posted March 10, 2014 fingers crossed you get approved mate, always nice having something different than everyone else. Even though they're pretty much the same chassis as XE its just the emissions crap that hold us back, i got my own build happening atm even though its been engineered it was on gas so i have to work my way around that somehow haha worst case you'll have to gas it like most do 1 Outback Jack reacted to this
