blackxt 699 Posted September 8, 2013 Free up the exhaust . Mine uses a stock system I removed the front muffler from it was $105 new. Plus 20 dollar for abit of pipe to fill were the muffler went And Extractors would be a good place to start . A j3 chip might be the go after that . I've just fitted a largeish wade grind and a custom j3 on LPG with the good exhaust. See what it turns out in s few weeks power wise. Cost me a fair bit to do as I've had the head reco and I cleaned then ports up abit my self . I've spend nearly 2000 to do the head and cam and adjustable cam gear and j3 chip . And that's me doin all the labor . Minus recoing the head. Sent from my XT925 using Tapatalk 2 1 Thom reacted to this
Thom 6,651 Posted September 8, 2013 How much are you looking to spend? how much can you do yourself, a cheap upgrade but takes time and a but of electronic ability, first I would remove the rearmost muffler (or front one even better would be a 2.5 inch exhaust) follows by a broadband intake (unless your Ute was originally fitted with one) followed by an ea cam (or an aftermarket cam) and a set of extractors is a good start 1 revhead reacted to this
dizzy616 183 Posted September 11, 2013 sorry to hijack your thread dude. how are ea cams with gas? and do you think it would work good with a aussiespeed carby manifold?
Thom 6,651 Posted September 11, 2013 They seem pretty good, they have a strong vacuum signal
Stevemack 122 Posted September 11, 2013 The best bang for your buck IMO is cam regrind, a set of blue top magna injectors and a chip. Bout $1200 in parts, cam and injectors you could do yourself, chip is a bit specialised to stuff around with yourself though. I have a bit more done to mine, but it pumps out 220+Kw at the wheels.
