Late reply woops. But Yeah using the new version of the aussiespeed manifold, will be running it east west. Not worried about the cost of carby too much as I'd rather just buy the right one the first time. I was thinking for more drivability on the street that a vaccum secondary would be better and still be able to have a bit more top end with a higher cfm carb.

are you using the big plenum manifold or smaller one ? ive been thru this b4 and would suggest the 450 quickfuel double pumper,i tried a 650 it does work but a bit of a overkill unless seriously racing ,and are you running the carb east west or nth south, all those carbs will work if i had my time again i would run a 600 pumper holley or the 465 quickfuel is a very nice carb on a back yard tune it 212hp at the wheels with plenty of room for more tuning says the dyno guy,he reckons could have got it to 240 approx, same 3.45 gears single rail ect.

Hey guys just wondering what size carb I should be looking at for my crossflow, not finished yet but here are some simple specs.

    Crow 14672 cam, 231@50 .550 lift 108LSA
    10.8:1 comp
    E2 Head flowing 235cfm
    C4 with stall
    3.45 diff
And all the other goodies and supporting mods.

Will be using an aussiespeed manifold but not sure on carb, something around 600cfm I'm assuming just from looking at others posts.
    Any other advice is appreciated.

yes trailing arms are the same until late eb 1 ,but the reason i asked is once i was at the diff shop and the guy said there is a slight difference in rubbers for the pivot or something ? or position of pivot,we also know a AU  pivot is different and can be fitted to xe for some sort of upgrade. The back of my xe wobbles so much as it sits up high compard to the lowerd front ,i think i will buy that set of matching springs for the ass end ,and fully rebuild it while the whole rear end is out,new arms and bushes and sus that 2.53 gear set while changing oil, need a roady soon so i can see if it makes any noise but i reckon its fine as it has never seen any hard work or burnouts ect.

I'm 99.99% sure they'd be same due to i used my XE ones in My brothers 1991 EB falcon, and possibly all the trailing arms too

My XB panelvan project, is a factory manual V8 vehicle.
Before I owned it, someone converted it to Auto, thus I'm attempting to return it to stock.

It would've been factory fitted with a Single Rail gearbox,
but I'm struggling to identify what an XB single rail gear shifter, actually looks like.

I've purchased a date-code correct gearbox, but the shifter it came with, is clearly not right.

From what little info I can find, XB single rail shifters were chrome plated,
same as Escort and Cortina (and XD falcon too) single rails.

I've managed to find one person with a chrome plated shift lever, but they're asking north of $100 for it,
so I need to be sure it's right.

Here are the pics they sent me of it... can anyone tell me if it's XB, XD, Escort/Cortina etc?

it is all a compromise with the  length of the rods  and travel you require .
get one handle working  and then introduce the second handle
the rods may need to be shorten, I normally bend them to and put a small S shape in it
if it has not not got enough travel take some of the kink out to lengthen it.
make shore the kiddy lock is not on and the rods don't fight each other and lockup

i have access to a right rear door I will check when I get home if it helps

Yes don't be fooled by the xd part number, just like the pillow blocks that came out in a xe falcon, they had xe on the cast number but that don't mean it's for a xe ,it stand for experimental engine.

looks on first glance like an XH spare wheel winch part but the number doesn't come up in google etc

For auction is a Ford Nos XD bracket. Part number is XD-17C792B. Have no idea what this is. Can't say I've seen one before. Have had no luck in researching the part number. A mate of mine thought it may have something to do with station wagons. Please do your research before bidding to ensure suits your needs. Item is in great condition. Please use pictures to form part of the description. Combined postage offered other parts listed

i looked on the other rear door and that rod goes to that white plastic turning thing, but something aint right ,in that plastic thing the handle rod is meant to be on notch 2 and that one in the pictures goes on notch 1,so ?

i've moved the pivot point for the inner handle i think on rear doors twice (to take up slack)
have the rods been fitted wrong? is it meant to have a kink in it?

5cm is miles out, haven't got the left handle in the right door etc?

After 4 months I finally worked out how to take these coat hanger things off,the buggers are like double skinned, just stick a small screwdriver behind it and gently prize it off then unscrew the holder, these must come off for the new roof lining

Lol, he has so many cars now... almost as bad as me.
I can't work out, how he fits them all in.

I reckon it could be something to do with harmonics dampening?

Compare the flooring with later year ones, which don't have the cake tray.
    The design may have changed?

NO takers ? i thought dean knew everything🤔,the headposts are TF cortina,on a build day with the production line out of normal headposts, they just chucked in something that would work, ben from global trim worked this out for me and said yeah he has seen a few over the years with this same thing, case solved.interesting note i bought a set of xe head post cushions from a guy up the road then went to fit em and they dont fit .so i went back and nearly ended up in a battle royal when he wouldnt give my money back ,took months to work out this x file.

    OOOHH
I had this issue once also then.
i didn't pick it, i didn't have many cars that had this style seat, and once i got over the fact they weren't a "head rest" and the Girl Friend at the time fit her pony tail knot in the opening, it was the best thing ever invented apparently.
if they marketed it as a pony tail void, they'd sold double the amount lol
