    Latley heaps of us are chatting about 302ws ect,,so i will start this thread with the 302w started showing up around 1968 in us and aust market and finished early 2000s,all sorts of names like mexican block or boss 302 block inc,there was many variants and roller blocks too.

    i sold the block for a $1000 for a guy was desperate for one to build a stroker,i wouldnt mind buying another one and 427 it or 408 seems very popular.

    i havent paid for this engine yet but im finding plenty of broken things to bargin the price down a couple of hundy,no dipstick,balancer is broken,alt bracket is broken,sump is fkd,i was just gunna buy a std front sump to suit xy to xf ect,,,around 80 bux.

    man im glad i did not buy all these pulleys n stuff,im gunna have to do more reasearch or stick with the AU style but the build theme was to make the 302 look old school with the blue paint but its gunna look like a jigsaw engine if i put the big chunky alloy brackets on it,im only missing the alt bracket as the one i have is broken but all the others are vg,all engine parts are ready to go oiled and bagged,just waiting on rings n conrod bearings then i can start to fit the bottom end up.you can see at the bottom of the au bracket its broken off cause it had a hit from underneath when the grandson smashed it .

    i watched a video the other day where a company in america makes a balancer for neutral,28 or 50oz ,3 in 1 balancer,you just keep adding bobweights to it as supplied,might try and find it.

    Lets go right back to the late sixtys early 70,s and then 80,s with aussie clevo,s ,but when the clevo was born the end of the muscle car thing in america was just about over,by 1974 it was replaced with the 400 and m engines,so throw in any 2c worth with rumors or fact,from what i have read it was launched in 1970 perhaps even late 69,the canted valve arrangement was very successful and nascar said nope no canted valves ,that could be one of the reasons i have heard lately why the 351c only lasted about 4 years ,gerg chime on in.

    if it was 500 just for the engine i would probly buy it,but no spare money atm too close to crissmass,unless i can do a buy now and pay later i will chat with him maybe we can come to an agreement,i cant see him rebuilding it,would go nice in a wagon like xd or xe

    well it only had a 350 on it ?????? motor and box is still available gerg if you want it,just send me the money and i will put it in my garage to give to ando to bring down next time he goes to sydney lol

    ok thanks for that,it looks like au v8 alternator is different to eb style,but i wonder if the big alloy bracket is the same ? thats what i need to know.

    really ? im still trying to work out how to get around the serpantine set up,like there is no a/c anymore so are shorter belts available ? the big alloy alt bracket is broken will any eb to au one work ? also i would like to put a eb style balancer on it but will a early 5.0L crank pulley still work or are all the 5.0 set ups the same,i just dont need the trigger thing on the au balancer .

    have seen a few nice 400s on you tube pulling 500hp on dyno with usual mods,i bet these big inch motors love a big carb

    PROBLY have to chop the p/s line and rejoin both of them somewhere near the bottom of engine bay or something.
