If you run it were they did from factory you will need round abouts 10-12 mtrs depending on your bends you do make the one going up the tunnel in two peices so it joins at the bellhousing that will make it easier to put in and if its stock brakes the tube nuts shout be a p5555 tube nut with a double flare, sorry can't remember the numbers on the metric nuts if u have put the e series diff in as you need the for the diff

Master cyl is the p4285 nuts with a ball flare just had check on mine again

The front brake hoses are the p5555 nuts with a double flare

and the rear should be the same nuts if they are the 9'' calipers

To be honest I did have concerns about mounting the msd under the water bottles.
The thing is unless the water poured into the box its fine.
It is rubber mounted away from the body so water running down the panel would miss it and any splash ,the motor heat and fans will dry pretty quick.

I also like it in the bay so when I run the laptop on it I can do everything from the one spot.

Each to their own. I like em mounted inside as well.
What I like more is an MSD that doesn't get interference from any other source.
Only way to fo that properly is shortest run from msd to dizzy, just to be sure

It should be just have to unwrap the harness that's what will take the longest part as its a pain wrapping it up lol

If it's south east queensland you can transport them to a depot, I will pick them up for you and drop them off to the wheel place. Then pick up when done and send back to you, should work out a lot cheaper that way if sending depot to depot. Just a thought

I have mounted mine inside on the trans tunnel, and all of the wires , that already come on the box , are long enough to reach the dizzy /coil, without adding to them?

The MSD CDI box's are moisture resistant and the boards are coated with a glass resin that protects them as most modern electronics boards are.

I doub't there will be a issue been installed under the washer bottle even if it lets go as the water would most likely drain out with in a minute and a very small percentage of that would find it's way inside the box in my thinking.

People have run em in engine bays for years without issue. I wouldn't but if it works, it works

The one on the left is to coil + the one on the right looks like it plugs into the throttle position solenoid.

The Green red is 12volts switched and perhaps to the coil ? Though not needed now of course and the other I don't know as I don't remember that plug in the car.You could just tape em back up on themselves and tuck em away some where.

Nice work mate, if you find it gets too warm there you can always make a nice heat shield for it.
Make sure it works then loom it.
So nice to see the pv coming together.
    Happy dayz.

Thanks Jack that's was my understanding of a coil if it was getting hot too, but I will find a nice coil that looks good and doesn't cost the world

Just rigged up an MSD 6530 with a blaster 2 coil, no probs , coil runs cool.
Usually if a coil overheats its because the supply voltage is too high. Some although a 12v coil only require 5v after start up.

HVC2 coils are expensive for a reason.
Blaster2 coils are oil filled, HVC2 is a resin core.
Resin core coils last longer and have a more stable output.
You can use blaster 2 coils on an msd 6al2 piece of piss.
If ya coil is getting hot I suggest a ballast resistor to drop its supply voltage.

sorry its all mounted now in the bay, but mine is just a 6al msd so it doesn't have all that other stuff to go with it just had to run a few wires and that was it. the van is built as a show car but if i want to drive it i still can, if you check out my thread you will see my interior is very clean and i don't really want to cut it up

Hey jack I ended up putting it behind the shock tower where the charcoal cannister normally goes it's still seen but make it still neat in that spot. I'm thinking of changing the washer bottle and putting the fuel pump and reg beside the washer bottle will put a pic up later

^^^This is the spot Im thinking of mounting mine as well. It should be far enough away from any electrical interference, still get airflow and be protected from damage from things like rocks, broken belts etc.
