2redrovers 21,400 Posted May 29, 2019 When the time comes, you can buy my 13x6 RS wheels, and that will fund my 13x6 twin cam steelies Cool, I'll keep that one in mind. They would look nice with the colour combo I'm contemplating. As for that brown, I know which one you're talking about but I'm not a brown fan.. I don't even like the root beer colour that is all the rage for kustoms.I knew about the tunnel and that doesn't bother me to fix. Probably have to fix the floors anyway. If you want your tunnel enlarged *snickers*, no problem. Oh and my mistake on the auto, meant in the vans didn't know about the cars.Pinto probably wouldn't happen especially with that list. If I need to do that much reshaping to make a motor fit it would likely be for a modern one. 1 bear351c reacted to this
bear351c 10,270 Posted May 29, 2019 Apply the KISS principal...... rebuilt 1300, better cam, carb and extractors. Maybe some Recaros. All fits, all legal, trouble free cruising. 1 2redrovers reacted to this

Panko 2,480 Posted May 29, 2019 I guess what you have to weigh up is, if you fit a pinto or a modern donk, good chance front suspension will need upgrading anyway because of the weight. There are alternatives to needing a Mk2 front end conversion just to get the bigger struts. Capri struts, coil overs etc. The benefits of going bigger struts, is you can run the spaced M16 brakes (Mk2 brakes) which allows ventilated discs. I wish i had done that on mine when i rebuilt the struts, because the 1300 struts means you’re restricted to the stock solid disc brakes 1 2redrovers reacted to this
Panko 2,480 Posted May 29, 2019 I know mine is manual, but my 1300 goes just fine. Its stock internally and tired, but the weber and headers made a world of difference on its own. 1 2redrovers reacted to this
gerg 10,871 Posted May 29, 2019 My 2C:A simple metallic COB like Polynesian Green or some other bright metallic colour will accent the curves and will be easy to match if needed.Didn't know about the trans tunnel being different from auto to manual but there you goI can get why the BW35 was used, on local cars they had to use as much local content as possible but the UK cars used the Ford C3 box and possibly didn't need the tunnel mod?Sent from my CPH1903 using Tapatalk 1 2redrovers reacted to this
Panko 2,480 Posted May 29, 2019 Trans tunnel was smaller in the uk car as well. They were all built with different tunnels. The single rail 4 speeds are tiny in these. Mk2 had C3 boxes as well here in aus. 2 2redrovers and gerg reacted to this

steve mcqueen 1,796 Posted May 29, 2019 Never, your a talented man, ive seen your work here that you post up. You should have held off and spent your time and money on something better. Arn't you building a Ford coup of sorts? Not bothered at how rusty it is, this is also a teaching exercise for the forum. This car has many of the common problems that you guys may encounter when buying projects and if you know how to fix them then scary cars won't be as scary any more.Oh and no, not any more. It's left my shop, there won't be any more updates on that one from me. 1 steve mcqueen reacted to this

SPArKy_Dave 8,872 Posted May 29, 2019 Here are a couple of Ford colours (not sure if pearl or non-pearl) - That redish colour you (or someone) mentioned earlier, is called Seduce - There is also a very deep red/brown/black colour called velvet - Or Green/blue chameleon colour, called Mystic -
2redrovers 21,400 Posted May 29, 2019 Definitely not mystic, that colour is ridiculous expensive (or at least it used to be, very pearly). No to velvet, if I went a dark colour it would be a dark smoke green metallic that doesn't have a name because it only exists in my head. Can't recall the last time I saw the seduce on a car but from memory it's too got too much pink in it. 2redrovers 21,400 Posted May 29, 2019 I'm considering matching the red from my first roverIt looks pinkish in that shot but it's not. Thought about that with a simple gold pinstripe down the side. If I got adventurous could use the large escort side stripes but that might be a bit over the top for me. 1 deankxf reacted to this

SPArKy_Dave 8,872 Posted May 29, 2019 I do quite like this one - 1 2redrovers reacted to this
2redrovers 21,400 Posted May 30, 2019 Yeah I liked that look too, mine will still have rear windows though. The red is brighter than I'd like, you can see the difference hereI think the lighter one on the right is brigade and my darker on the left is supposed to be Leyland tartan. I say supposed to be because I haven't found that colour listed elsewhere, just what the previous owner told me he had it done in. 1 SPArKy_Dave reacted to this

deankxf 20,288 Posted May 31, 2019 that be $100 plus shipping plus tax? still worth it? looks like something that could be made using 50x50mm box section.. (bonus chassis strength and rock slider ability)
