GROUP BUY - CLEAR XF SEDAN TAIL LIGHTS

Found a place I can get clear xf sedan rear indicator lens made. Need to get numbers of interest to get exact quote. But its estimated at around $90 each side. Thats the lens only.

Id be interested as if i smash one in Goldie id have a back up.

Now as you no?, the xf tail light lens is not separate to its body like an XD one is

so how is this gonna happen.

It is plastic welded on. And is a separate piece to brake light. The replacement lens would just be glued on. The guy making uses this glue.

Was told to use a hotknife. Or a dremel.

Or if not going to use the amber lens ever again ,a hammer.lol.

 

Luckily I have a second set of lights(waiting to be picked up).

Maybe market the lense group buy a bit better,

and not have it in the Wreckers section.

 

It looks like you're just flogging second hand parts, when you see the Facebook linkbacks.

I'd have been keen on a couple of sets if it had been the whole taillight, like the ones that used to be available.

 

But this seems like a lot of fucking round with brittle old plastics.

The amber lens can be removed without touching the rest of the light. And the new lens simply glued on .

 

Not sure why you need to make those kind of negative comments, if you're not interested don't buy.

It is a fair bit of mucking around yeah,

but for those who want clear lenses it's the next best thing to not having them.

 

 

Maybe contact SSS as a club rep too,

and see if they'll get TYC to do a run of some XF tail lights.

 

Then people can mod NEW tail lights, if SSS will only make the amber lens versions
