Trevor 326 Posted July 3, 2013 Some lifters will go hard, so probably best to replace them all
bear351c 10,270 Posted July 3, 2013 If the base of the lifter is cactus, so is the lobe on the cam........ 1 revhead reacted to this

Trevor 326 Posted July 4, 2013 we run anti-pump up lifters and chrome molly rods As an aside, do you have a high flow oil pump on it? 1 revhead reacted to this
revhead 1,392 Posted July 4, 2013 new stage 2 cam lifters ,new double row timing set ,or pete jackson gear set, new lifters, case hardened rods, all set to rev again
ILIED 316 Posted July 4, 2013 Soft valve springs equals valvefloat. Valve float equals bent pushrod. You can replace the rods with better ones, which you should, but prob be advantageous to put some decents springs in it. 2 Trev Vaa and revhead reacted to this
xebruce 50 Posted July 11, 2013 Just got the heads cleaned and tested and they are all good. but nothing on them is. new valves, springs, seats, guides , retainers fitted. $1100 later.

Precision International - 17 bucks for a set of 4 US-made Johnson HiLift Hydraulic type. That's 68 bucks for a V8, Probably 90 bucks to your door. Get a cam while you're at it, their Dynotec cams are only $121 and are the same blanks as Crow. Good insurance, otherwise your old cam has to break in all over again with the new lifters.... Ask me how i know.
xebruce 50 Posted July 11, 2013 we paid $10AU each about 5 years ago for chrome molly pushrods My grandfather came from Invercargill I think its a great place to live. Bit cold for you Aussies though brother inlaw moved here a couple of years ago from noosa. Finding the winters a bit chilly.
