'Nova 997 Posted July 2, 2013 Hey guys! Got an issue with the door locks on the pano! When ever I unlock the doors, when I open it, the locks try and lock again flat out until my backside is in the car and I've shut the door behind me! Anyone had similar issues they can shed some light on why its happening?
Thom 6,651 Posted July 2, 2013 Could be body control module or one of your interior light switches playing up 1 'Nova reacted to this
SLO247 1,713 Posted July 2, 2013 Its one of the lock actuators. They have E Series ones. Usually you unplug them one at a time. The dodgy one will trigger the rest. 2 steve mcqueen and revhead reacted to this
'Nova 997 Posted July 2, 2013 Could be body control module or one of your interior light switches playing up Body control module? I know that the drivers side sticks a bit! I'll give it a go Its one of the lock actuators. They have E Series ones. Usually you unplug them one at a time. The dodgy one will trigger the rest. So the actuators themselves? Failing the other stuff might give it a go this weekend!
SLO247 1,713 Posted July 2, 2013 Yeah, they are a common problem. They get weak and if one is sticking or much slower than the other it will keep triggering the other one as they are always in a different spot. I've sold millions of them! They will interchange all the way from EA-EL. 1 'Nova reacted to this

'Nova 997 Posted July 2, 2013 Righto! How much are they worth?
SLO247 1,713 Posted July 2, 2013 I sell them for $60 a set normally, some wankers want heaps more obviously. If I had a pair they would be yours for postage but I don't unfortunately. Check out ebay. You should be able to unplug them for now and just open it manually. 1 'Nova reacted to this

Dads EF does this aswell. He had it checked out and the sparky told him "it was the drivers door actuator that was ka-put" He never got it fixed and now they don't work at all. I believe it to be common with E series cars. 1 'Nova reacted to this

Thats cheap, is that a set of 4? Hey nova. Dads EF does this aswell. Yeah man, like the actual door latches fucking up and braking! Last one of those gold plated beauties I found was $150 for the drivers door (which is the most common to break as its used the most!) SLO247 1,713 Posted July 2, 2013 Yeah I sell sets of four for $60, and sets of the door lock/latch mechanisms for $60. I hate greedy people, they always sell easy at that price. All I have are a spare set of each for my EF. The door mechs are easy too, XG-XH are identical to EA-EL. They are everywhere. 1 'Nova reacted to this
'Nova 997 Posted July 2, 2013 I might unplug it for now, if you get them in stock before I managed to suss out!
Hatchy 23 Posted July 2, 2013 personally id pull the locking mechanism out see if its sticking in that first, i could be damaged, or try checking the wires with a test light, it sounds like the rod is getting stuck, which will make the thing go ape shit, all comes down to trial and error, worse comes to worse get a new one. have you tryed carsrus for an after market one? atleast take the door card off so that way you can see what its doing 1 'Nova reacted to this
