Well with one problem down another pops up, I can't find the bloody inspection cover on this thing. Ill try rattling out the bolts and see if its just splined together but Im completely stumped about how to get at the converter bolts.

Well I have finally returned to this now that I need a car for a mate, I got my hands on another xr6 that had been in a wreck for $1000 and am pulling the engine out of it today (if anyone needs fg parts hit me up). The plan is to do the swap for now and then rebuild the original engine to turbo spec and make an xr6 turbo out of it. Ill keep you posted but so far so good! Its not just safe, its 40% safe!

the port size is massive on the 4V, i don't know the dimensions, but it's fairly easy to tell looking at them. there's a photo in post 3 of the thread below , might have more info in it if you have time to read it?

Gidday everyone, I’m hoping someone can help ID the heads I have on my clevo? Quietly confident they’ll be 2V heads looking at port size but I’m no mechanic. They don’t have the dot 2 or dot 4 stamps in the corner that I’ve seen in some articles/YouTube vids. I’ve found the following numbers stamped on them if this helps: ARD0AE and 60908 cast on the outside of the head on the manifold and then 7J6 cast on the inside with a large 1 stamped on the inside. Hopefully this helps otherwise I’ll add some photos when I get them back. Reason I’m wanting to ID them is I’m looking at a new intake manifold and want to ensure it’ll work well. thanks in advance Glen

This is going back some time, but it looks like the same distributor in this picture is still available at Vintage Inlines. That's an Aussie 250 with an early alloy head. There is a bunch of photos posted on FordMods.com, poster is XKNO1, same as the number plate.

Do the front parkers work? I'd suss the binnacle switch, and/or relay Remove the relay and jump the load side relay contacts, using low amp test light (in case of wiring short) -
Hmmm Interesting info Slydog. I have looked at a 4bbl setup for the Pre Xflow, most of the info I have been looking at for carb blow through systems recommended a carb on the slightly smaller size compared to a draw through system that needs quite a bit of CFM. I'm bit miffed on what is correct, I'd imagine that going for an Aussiespeed 4bbl manifold and the sniper 4100 4 bbl efi system would be the safest option as the EFI is only going to use what it needs and wont "over carb" the engine. The compression is a bit mystery side of things, no real markings on the pistons other than indicating that they are 0.030 over, but they are dished. the Head itself looks like it might of had a small amount of material removed from the surface, the combustion chamber look huge and factory like. I'd imaging the compression to be between the factory 9.5:1 and 10:1. Will these compression ratio's be safe with the older pre xflow head? I am planning on running boost control either with a 6AL2 or ICE setup. The exhaust manifold is a little bit of a mystery to me, I'm not sure who I could get in wagga to make up one from scratch for me, but I was planning on using an Aussiespeed or similar dual outlet manifold to a J pipe and positioning the turbo near where the battery currently sits, the futura doesn't have aircon so no compressor in the way. I had a look at the factory 1v manifold but it seems to be incompatible with the 2v head, it would of been the easiest option for a manifold had it fitted. I'm sure I'm over thinking most of this, surely blowing a pre xflow couldnt be all that much different to a crossy. please feel free to correct me if i'm wrong on this.

Not 100% sure, but check the fuse box carefully, sometimes the dash light fuse isn't the same as the tail light one.
