FOMOCOHO 882 Posted February 16, 2016 ok cheer's i defitatly turned it a few more times but only locked in twice,so ? yep it still has a bit of oil from the draining, for these older gearboxes is there a correct fluid to put in them instead of any auto fluid. Correct fluid specification type is M2C33F. Capacity is 10.5 Litres.
CHESTNUTXE 7,311 Posted February 16, 2016 ok thanks ,no wonder these gearboxes are so heavy with 10.5L in them !

FOMOCOHO 882 Posted February 17, 2016 Castrol TQF in mine, (same as M2C33 spec)........ yep 10 litres.!! Yep, I use Castrol TQF in the old stuff, not to be confused with TQ95 which is NOT recommended for M2C33 applications. 2 bear351c and CHESTNUTXE reacted to this

CHESTNUTXE 7,311 Posted March 28, 2016 Hey guys give some advice before i chop it,the new fmx yoke is about an inch longer than the old unit, but the slipyoke goes in the fmx all the way ,so ? note the line is the same where it finishes in the box .
gregaust 319 Posted March 29, 2016 Just try it, shouldn't make any difference , there's a few different type yokes
CHESTNUTXE 7,311 Posted March 29, 2016 ok,is it wise to put new uni's in aswell or just use the old ones ?
bear351c 10,270 Posted March 30, 2016 Do it now, if ya can afford to. Lots of time and effort doing it later........
CHESTNUTXE 7,311 Posted March 30, 2016 yeah i will drop it off and get em to fix it all up ,more than likely they will say why dont you just get us to make you a killer shaft and yup i will be easily convinced.
CHESTNUTXE 7,311 Posted April 16, 2016 When i put the fmx into drive it doesnt engauge until i give it a small rev ,then seems to drive ok,could this be just low on fluid,im having trouble getting a correct reading ,but it would be very close to 10.5 litres in there now.reverse is the same, any idea's guys ? bear351c 10,270 Posted April 16, 2016 Sounds like she's low on fluid. Did you add another litre for the empty converter? Dipstick should have a level on it, yes?
CHESTNUTXE 7,311 Posted April 16, 2016 I put the dipstick in the box after i put the motor in,and it doesnt want to go down the last 1/2 an inch,i mean the dipstick holder which goes into the box,i probly should have done it before but to late,i will put another 500ml or 1 litre and see what happens,i cant really take it for decent drive untill i get the new exhaust fitted next thursday. bear351c 10,270 Posted April 17, 2016 yeah, mine's a bit tricky too, just that last inch or so...... ......shit. Did i just type that.? I meant getting the dipstick to go all the way in the tube.
CHESTNUTXE 7,311 Posted April 21, 2016 ok i topped up the fluid and no problems so far,i took the new engine for decent drive and holy hell it hammers, the fmx is cool and loves the clevo, its possible someone has put a shift kit in this fmx cause it nearly snaps your neck when manualy shifting it . bear351c 10,270 Posted April 21, 2016 Nope, thats an FMX...........!!
CHESTNUTXE 7,311 Posted May 31, 2016 Can the flexplate be bolted on any way ,or does the weight have to line up with anything ?
gerg 10,871 Posted May 31, 2016 Clevos are external balance, the weight is crucial in amount and direction. The flywheel bolts line up only one way, so the weight should only sit in one spot. 1 bear351c reacted to this
CHESTNUTXE 7,311 Posted May 31, 2016 yeah i sought of remember when fitting it ,it would only line up one way,its just been bugging me did i put it on correct.
gerg 10,871 Posted May 31, 2016 Trust me, you'd know because the engine would feel like it's trying to kill itself, and you.
